I still have a good gallon of Type 2 coolant from about 3 years ago. Is it still good? I didn't see an expiration date on the jug.

If your Accord has the Honda factory fill of coolant (it's blue I believe), then you should only add Honda coolant. As long as the type 2 is the same color and is Honda coolant then you're ok.

However, if you've mixed prestone or some other brand with the factory fill then I would flush the system and refill with Honda stuff.

That I know, but is it still good? It's been in the closet for 3 years. I'm assuming it is.

Absolutely fine. Use without reservation.

Don't always assume color is a safe bet in terms of co-existence with other coolant. I've got a jug of blue Saab coolant that would cause the inside of a Honda motor to turn to junk within 2 weeks (gotta love chemistry).

IF the jug still has the seal, it'd be fine. If it's been opened at all, I might skip it and spend the ten bucks to replace it.

As long as its Type 2 that's new, it won't go bad just sitting in the bottle.

It may be tinted very dark green, early Type 2 wasn't blue as it is now.
