A red raider is a person that goes to Texas Tech University in the very dusty town of Lubbock Texas.

what i don't get is how through the years, most of the "holidays" have become another excuse to drink and party.... :headbash: st. patty's day for one....christmas, thanksgiving.........the list goes on and on....also can't stand the secularism that our holidays have morphed into.... :smilemad: :(
ok, i'm done for now.....probably should start a new thread....

yep, they sure have.... but we're not much for drinking, so we just do whatever we want. There's always been a few friends that are disappointed because our gathering include little kids & there's rarely any alcohol.
We've been to baby's first birthday partys that the "grown ups" were all sloppy! Now that's just wrong!!
I'm thinking that sometime next year we should make a trip to AZ. We'd probably fly though.... that way we wouldn't need to take time off. I haven't visited my brother in a long time! There's a nice Sheraton resort in Scotsdale. We like their property in FL we used. We don't golf & everything there centers around it.... but we can handle that.
Our next PLANNED roadtrip isn't till May....

Stuff 's further apart out here! It's a 12-13 hour drive to PHX from here....
We found it weird to have other states so close when were in DC last Summer. In one afternoon we were in DC, VA & MD... strange for us! It's 4 hours to NV, more to OR. So much of our travels are within the state. The boys want to go to the ocean.... we'll see.... if we do, it'll likely be on a whim. :)
