I just want to see how you guys install the HID kit without removing the bumper, because I'm just don't want to risk breaking anything. Any pix showing where the ballast located will do. Thanks in advance!!

if you are a little patient.. I am working on a full detailed instructional for install... but in my instructional you WILL REMOVE THE BUMPER WHICH ACTUALLY IS A SIMPLE NOTING TO DO... TAKES FIVE MINUTES TO DO.. :)

yes, removing the bumper is best. it gives you access to the only good spot to mount the ballasts. plus, this mounting point protects the ballasts from the elements, as they are typically not weatherproof.

where is the best place to put the HID kit for fog lights since they are closer to the ground?

After The Bumper Is Off Attach To The Frame Rail There Is A Flat Section That Is 90 % Protected From Moisture.. Addirionally If You Do Get The Bumper Off, And You Have An Alarm, I Highly Recommend Moving You Sirens Inside The Bumper It Isnt Seen And Is Loud As Hell! I Added 2 Sirens + The Factory Horns For Honk...

The forum won't allow you to type in all caps. So if Jamie had caps lock on, only the first letter of each word would be capitalized.

I just installed my HID's today. I mounted the ballast under the hood. I got the DDM super slim ballast. You can barely notice them under the hood.

open the fender lining and stick your arm in. once your get the little clips out with a flat head, you'll see clearly where you can mount it at. i mounted mine close to where jamie mounted his, except i mounted mine on the little metal wing part.

I have picture tutorial thread in the DIY section (link in my sig as well). It's not as pretty as some other peoples' installs but the ballasts I got from RetroSolutions are waterproof so I'm not worried about them getting wet.

Its probably easier to remove the bumper, but if you have an incline or ramp you can drive the car up and turn the wheel. Then you can remove the strip underneath and simply stick your hands to remove and replace. its a bit difficult, it dont want to remove the bumper.
