I noticed all the 09s weve got in are Crystal Black .... no more B92P .... I always liked the blue in the Nighthawk, wonder why the change. You 08 owners got a one year only color.

Rare Accordlover 08-23-2008, 04:44 PM Too bad that color has been in use on Accords since 2001. Not so rare. Accordgal 08-23-2008, 05:45 PM Too bad that color has been in use on Accords since 2001. Not so rare. We are talking about 8th gen accords here... Accordlover 08-23-2008, 05:46 PM We are talking about 8th gen accords here... Still, its not a rare color. It's on Honda's and Acura's all over the place. Trip 08-23-2008, 06:01 PM I wonder what "Crystal Black" will be. With the name "Crystal" maybe it will have silver and grey metallic flakes? My favorite Honda black was the Flamenco Black with the green and gold flakes. NHB replaced it. justblink778 08-23-2008, 06:04 PM Ah, my old '97 was Flamenco. Pretty color. Osiris_x11 08-23-2008, 06:04 PM "Berlina Black", FTW! :D MikV66MT 08-23-2008, 06:18 PM sweet im rare my car is worth millions millions now!! Shinosis 08-23-2008, 07:21 PM I was reading somewhere that this new black is supposed to handle better in terms or less scratching, fading, and swirl marks jang859 08-24-2008, 04:21 AM well i sure hope so why would you roll out a new black without improvement. btw i think the paint on my trunk must be defective because its scratched to high hell somehow and the rest of my paint isn't so bad. it's like me just cleaning it has scratched it, and in unusual wide swaths too not hairline scratches. probably 10-15 of them all along the top 1/3 of the trunk. the paint sucks there. probably a defect or something. Osiris_x11 08-24-2008, 11:40 AM I've always been preferential towards metallic-paints over pearl-paints when it comes to darker-shades of color. . . nighthawkcoupe 08-24-2008, 11:44 AM I sure hope it's improved for the sake of everyone who buys a black honda from now on. I am just short of being completely obsessive about the way I care for my paint (2 bucket method, clean quality microfibers, never touch the car unless just washed, park miles away from civilization etc. etc.), yet my car is already covered in swirls. shamutruck 08-26-2008, 04:37 PM It was a bright sunny day today so I looked at one outside, its metallic but very fine, you kinda have to look for it, saw some blues, golds, reds, greens, like a prisim (sp?) effect. looks good, very classy. ufmike316 08-26-2008, 06:24 PM i work at a honda dealership and saw a coupe today in crystal black.... HOT! Its a very deep black with crystal clear and sharp reflections, with just the right amount of metallic sparkle. i used to have a TL in NBP, and the new crystal black looks MUCH better... atleast when its clean. I dont know how it will hold up to dirt, scratches, and swirls. vioaltec 08-26-2008, 08:57 PM i work at a honda dealership and saw a coupe today in crystal black.... HOT! So did you get a huge employee discount on your V6? lol giltibo 08-27-2008, 12:36 PM I have looked at the new Crystal Black Pearl on Civic parts today: it looks deeper black whereas the NBP was a very dark blue v-6 nolo 08-27-2008, 01:33 PM I was reading somewhere that this new black is supposed to handle better in terms or less scratching, fading, and swirl marks It sounds like they need to do that for ALL colors, not just black. Osiris_x11 08-27-2008, 02:05 PM I was reading somewhere that this new black is supposed to handle better in terms or less scratching, fading, and swirl marks Whomever stated such is full of B.S., IMHO. Scratching & swirl-marks are manifestations of the clear-coat, generally due to improper washing/detailing and/or overall neglect. And last I checked, the selected clear-coat is uniform throughout the various colors. In regards to fading, that is attributable to environmental circumstances. If a black car is fading after 'X' amount of miles/years while being in the sun-belt for 'X' amount of time day-in/day-out, then more than likely any other dark-color will fade accordingly as well. It's a fact-of-life that newer OEM hues of paint over time are offered. . . itsjO 08-27-2008, 03:59 PM Whomever stated such is full of B.S., IMHO. lol... i so agree with this statement.:lmao: Scratching & swirl-marks are manifestations of the clear-coat, generally due to improper washing/detailing and/or overall neglect.
