Right now i have an EX-L Coupe v6 5AT but now i want to trade for either another 08 or 09 Coupe w/ Navi and 6spd. Would it be worth the trade if i traded to the dealer? I put 10k down on it.

I know it sounds dumb and should've gotten what i wanted in the first place but at the time me and the wifey needed a new car and was sharing and she didnt know how to drive a stick. But any advice would be helpful.

Are you happy with your car right now? If not then you should trade it in for what you want. However, you'll get hit pretty hard in terms of your car's value. If they offer a fair price or close to blue book then do it.

If money's an issue then I would suggest stick it out. Maybe wait until the face-lift model comes out and then trade it in.

Good luck!

If you dont mind losing more than a couple of grands go ahead... but i highly advise you to be content with the AT. I am going through that same "I wish I waited and went 6 speed" but the thought of how much I am poised to lose is too much. The dealers smell money when customers end up doing what you want to do...

there is a dealer around here offering 10% over KBB values, but you should just go get it appraised at carmax (no hassle, but usually more value than a dealership trade in) or see what the dealership is offering, then you know where youll stand

changing gears is overrated.

I'd keep the car. Here's why:

1) You don't even have a KBB or NADA value to use in figuring what your trade is worth so that's an advantage to the dealer.

2) Just because you put $10k down doesn't mean you won't take a bath when trading it in

3) If you really want Nav, I'm telling you, go aftermarket like myself and jblaust and one other guy did...aftermarket system installed..double din...WAY MORE FUNCTIONAL.

4) Just suck up the lack of the manual tranny...we're not talking about a true sports car here anyway...I understand you couldn't wait but if you trade in, you're gonna lose thousands and an '09 will cost you at least $500 more than an '08 in terms of pricing not to mention that Honda is giving dealers cash to move accords...that won't be the case for the 2009s and an '08 with manual tranny will be scarce at best.

Good luck! Stay true and keep the car...and your money!

KBB doesn't have values yet for 2008 Accords so the poster that mentioned 10% over KBB does no good when you don't even know what that is...besides...either way...you're gonna take a big hit because you're playing right into a dealer's hands...keep the car....it's a great car!

Remember...a fool and his money are soon easily parted...don't be a fool...(unless you have tons of cash and don't care :)

So if I gave you say $3000 right now, what is the first thing you want to go do with it? If you stumble even a little before saying put it in another another car, think about this more before you jump.

For 2/3rds of this price you can have a set-up similar to mine that is WAY BETTER than the factory nav...doesn't solve your manual issue but would solve your nav issue...just another thought

You'd get hosed with a trade; no doubt about it. You just get more hosed if you financed since you pay only interest for a few months.

Your only hope not to spend more money would be to trade with somebody in the same position with a 6-sp; doesn't hurt to try on the classifieds here.

If you plan to keep the car for a long time, and you really want the 6sp, and you can afford it, I'd go for it. A painful lesson, but unfortunately that's how you learn. Good luck.

Enjoy it. I was sorry I didn't get an EX-L (wanted all the options on it EXCEPT the leather) and after some talk here, was told to actually enjoy my car because I wouldn't have bought it unless I got a good deal on it. I say keep yours because it's rare as it is. Don't go trading it in and getting ripped for it. Go get the navi installed like those other 2 guys and pay the same price for a better system.

hmmm... after hearing what you guys have to say... i'm leaning more into keeping the car and adding navi but i'm just gonna have to live w/o the manual tranny...
