Anyone having trouble with the black soot growing on their tailpipe?:dunno:

I clean up the black soot pretty well everytime I wash, but I went honestly a month without washing. Now, the black soot has stained my pipe, and will not come off with soap. I'm thinking of using turtle wax aluminum polish.

I've had this on every car I've owned. I've never tried anything to clean it, since I view it as a losing battle.

me too, but i just figured it was because the engine is breaking in.......

My96 del sol used to do that, and the tailpipe was easier to clean.
I just figured that cars have come a long way since 1996.:dunno:
