I bought some Brembo rotors from tirerack and I was wondering if I need to have them turned before installing them.

Probably just clean them with some brake clean or something to get the oil off them right. cjg1999 09-13-2008, 12:45 PM Are you sure? I'm installing new pads too. Fredsvt 09-13-2008, 05:32 PM If there is any rust on the hub, make sure to clean it off and that it's even. Any uneven-ness in the hub will transfer through the hat in the rotor and cause pulsation. Also, buy a good torque wrench and torque the lugnuts to 80 ft-lbs. Excessive lugnut torque will distort the hub and the rotor hat, and ruin the rotor. On 6 speed cars this seems especially critical. merkure 09-22-2008, 10:44 AM 2000% sure. just use brake clean and get the coating off. Hot soapy water works best, brake clean won't get all the residue off. |
