I'm new to the site but enjoy it immensely for the information contributed here. A quick questions for those installed 2004 fog lights: where are JDM lights come from and are they of similar quality with the OEM light kits considering much different in price ?

JDM lights come from Japan (Japanese Domestic Market.)
They would work, and are probably of better quality but the beam pattern on them is optimized for right hand drive in Japan, and not left hand drive that we have here in the states. So they would probably be illegal, annoy other drivers and get you pulled over.
The price is higher because they must be bought from Japan, from a Honda parts dealer in Japan as Honda in the US won't sell them to you.

the JDM inspire / asian (ADM?) accord fog lights will not fit the USDM accord bumper...theres no "hole" for the fogs like there is on the JDM/ADM cars.

in many cases like this JDM is just a sales thing to to make you think it's "cool". the JDM accord is an inspire, which I believe is basically an Acura TL or TSX, which is different than our cars in many ways. So basically JDM on ebay, etc, means nothing. aftermarket knock-off.

US Accord = JDM Inspire
US TSX = JDM/EDM Accord
US TL = Nothing JDM so far

Yeah, but when installing the fogs in NA accords, the directions say to cut the bumper, so I'm guessing you can do the same for JDM fogs.
As a matter of fact, with enough work, almost anything from JDM cars can fit on NA cars. Installing fog lights is really trivial compared to some of the other stuff I've seen done.

I'm guessing that even if you cut into the bumper, you'll have a hard time fabricating mounting brackets. Also you could install them just for looks, they don't even have to be wired up. I think they'd be more or less worthless anyway even if they did work.

There are people selling knock off stuff calling it "JDM". This appeals to the ricers who think everything JDM adds 10HP instantly. However, there are many JDM accessories and mods that are legit.
The JDM inspire is very similar to the US Accord. Many of the parts will fit US accords without modification. Of course, finding these parts from a Honda dealer in the US is impossible as they are grey market items. Someone has to buy them in Japan under the guise that they are either selling them in Japan or using them on their own car in Japan.
Additionally, the Japanese export their slightly used cars out of the US for salvage. My last car was a JDM model (as you can see in my sig). It was used from Japan, but of much better quality than cars available from local dealerships in the country I lived in (Trinidad and Tobago). It was also cheaper than used cars available locally.
Literally every week the junk yards bring parts from old cars which were intended for the Japanese domestic market. This allowed people with similar cars to add features or repair their cars at low cost. Things like power windows, better engines, automatic transmissions etc.

Well to install the fogs designed for US Accords, you have to cut the bumper too, so I don't think mounting brackets are really going to be an issue.
Also you could install them just for looks, they don't even have to be wired up. I think they'd be more or less worthless anyway even if they did work.
The beam pattern would not be DOT, and therefore illegal, but I still think they would work.

Here is the Honda Inspire. I believe that the foglights on the inspire already have the cut out spots there, like on my 92 civic si hatch. So an Inspire bumper without foglights would have the cutout in black unpainted plastic. Looking like a faux air vent, and you just have to cut them out. Where as on our accords it's not black, you just cut the bumper. Here are a few pics. If you noticed event the rear bumper is different. Our Accord rear bumpers sorta look like they turn up on either side of the bumper, where as the Inspire looks flat. Here are a few pics of the Inspire with the Honda factory kit. Honda calls it their Modulo line.

Inspire has dual tips out the back with cutouts in the bumper, I think. I've never seen one, but I remember seeing a picture of one on the Honda JP website.

man, i want that bumper! it looks so much better with the exhaust tips showing. maybe the 06 refresh will have that bumper. :D
i'm sure you could make the JDM inspire fogs fit, but the inspire has a recessed area designed for the foglight. you will have a hard time putting it on the US bumper without it looking like a half assed hack job since you will see the cut part of the bumper. yes, you need to cut bumper to install the US fogs, but they come with a bezel so you dont see the cut bumper.

I'm looking to purchase the bumper/foglights. Anyone know if the US Accord wiring harness will work with the Inspire fog lights?

Anyone know if the US Accord wiring harness will work with the Inspire fog lights? It should, as long as you use the correct relays interior switch and connect via the OEM instructions. You may have to change the connectors at the lights, but no big deal.
