is it just me or does your coupes rattle when the bass setting is not even above +2. i just took the car into Honda and they are saying that there is no issue and i know i'm not crazy. i wouldnt expect this from a brand new car, but they are trying to brush it off as its because my cds are burned. thats the dumbest thing i ever heard because all of my songs are 192 kbps.

what should i tell them when i go back to the dealer?

my camry didnt have any kind of these issues nor any other car that i have drove.

that is dumb about the burned CDs...lol

I don't have this issue
I've heard tons of other ppl complain about it tho

try another dealer?
but on the other hand....I have a rattle that has started in my sunshade?
very annoying sometimes
but hondas are pretty much known for having rattles....so just turn the music up!...lol :)

The rear parcel shelf making noise is a common problem on the new Accord. Take it back to the dealer. Maybe if enough owners would do this HMC would issue a TSB.

I had to take my car back to the dealer twice to get it repaired.

Good luck

You probably have about a 50/50 chance of talking to somebody at a dealership who is aware of this problem. And since it isn't officially recognized by Honda as being a problem (i.e. there is no recall/TSB)......expect them to do some sort of ghetto rig involving tape or glue of some sort to fix it.

I'd personally wait a few months to see if Honda issues a recall/TSB.

ghetto rig lol. they said its the rear speaker so they ordered a new one but how can it be the speaker when everything in the car is brand new. oh well we'll see when they replace it.

this is very frustrating though, getting a car brand new then having to take it in which was the reason in the first place not to buy a used car that i had to take in everytime.

It's not the speaker, I can almost guarantee. The rattling is because the rear deck or some part of the rear deck is loose or not fastened tightly. There's a few threads here that explain what the problem is usually and how it's fixed.

My accord has the same sound, I put a sock between the rear window and the deck, and other between the deck and the bottom part of the deck, you can reach that part via the trunk, you can see some holes and if you put the hand tru the hole's you can see that theres a space were you can put them :S, it worked for me...

OP tbqh you should do this fix urself. the dealers are not reliable nor are they willing to fix out of their pocket. It rattle comes from the two rear decks being too close to each other and also due to the 3rd brake light and the top deck. find somethings things to fill in the area and the rattle will go away (i.e. stuff a sock and tape).

dont do it unless ur adding like dynamat or something. it causes more issues than it actually fixes. just stuff things thru the holes in the trunk

AmaziN, I have just read your post of 17 Sep 09, as I read it, deduced that your Bass setting is at a sound frequency which energizes surrounding mounting material. To solve this issue, you must isolate Bass speaker mounting with a neoprene type of gasket to dampen vibration. Perhaps you like setting your Bass high, and thus increase speaker vibration. Dealer cannot solve this issue as it depends on your ingenuity and expertise to dampen speaker sound. Perhaps a Best Buy installer can advise you on proper speaker mounting. They have a lot of install experience and know-how in dampening sound vibration, Regards

While I agree that it is basically up to the individual owner to locate and correct these noises, I wanted to point out that "dampening" and "damping" are not the same thing...you don't want his speaker to get wet do you?!:)
