I searched and found the stock offset on my 5 spoke v6 rims is +55, and that they are 17x7.

I want to go -1 for snows (probably going with either blizzacks or green diamonds), so I am doing 205 60 16 (what tirerack recommends)

however, tire-rack has multiple wheels. some are 16x7 +50, some are 16x7.5 +50 . Im thinking from what I understand the 16x7.5 should be a perfect fit since stock width is 7 and offset is 55 so drop the offset a bit, increase width... is my logic right?

here are the rims I am looking at
Sport Edition F7 (they have both 16x7 and 16x7.5 - the 7.5 are 1.5 pounds lighter so I am leaning to this)

also considering the MSW Type 14 but they are 16x7 and +45 offset... leaning to the Sport F7 though.

The +50 offset on either width rim should be fine - close enough to the factory +55 that you won't have much of an issue, if any at all. Personally, I'd go with the 16x7 wheel, mostly because it'll allow more rubber outside the edge of the rim, so if you slide a bit and bump a snowbank or a curb, you're less likely to hit rim vs tire rubber. That'd be my choice.
