I figured it out, finally!!!
I have an really PITA rattle coming from the front passenger side of my accord. I have driven around with the tweeter, sail panel, door panel and other trim taken off. I took the speaker out and I also secured the wires inside the door. At this point the only option is the glove box. The noise goes away when the glove box is open. I think the issue is the lock cylinder moving around, and I am not sure how to fix that. I would hate to go to the dealer if I can fix it myself.
I found a few threads about this but no real answers. Did anyone ever figure out if it was in fact the lock rattling and how we can try to fix it?
EDIT: The cause of this very annoying rattle was the glove box actuator arm. In the full up position (glove box closed) the tip of the arm does not make full contact with the bar on the glove box. This is most likeyl why the rattle stopped when the glove box was open. Anyway, I put a peice of rubber band around the bar and then snapped the actuator arm back on to the glove box. Rattle is gone! Hope this helps someone.
Thanks
