Is anyone using an iPod Shuffle (2nd or 3rd gen) in their 2008 or 2009? I connected the Shuffle to the AUX input and pushed the CD/AUX button, but nothing seems to happen. The light on the iPod is on and I push Play, but there is no sound coming from the speakers. The user's manual has a little blip about connecting MP3 players, but no useful information. Any help is appreciated.

Make sure you're using a stereo auxiliary cable. It needs to have 2 black lines just as this picture indicates.

The volume on the iPod and the car are up, but I'll have to check about the stereo cable. I was only paying attention to the 3.5 on both ends when I bought it. Thanks...

Have you checked the cable?

Just checked. The packaging says it is a mini-stereo audio cable used to connect portable/digital players to speakers or sound cards. Is this the wrong cable?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but it says "AUX" on the LCD right? If not, you might be in CD mode.

If it looks like the picture i posted it should be fine. If you know anyone with aux. ask them to let you borrow the cable.

I had the same problem, but it turned out my volume on the shuffle was turned down too far. I bought a simple Belkin connector cable. No real reason why it shouldn't work...
make sure you are turning the volume nob in the console, not the navigation nob. someone else on this board had a similar issue with their iphone, and it turned out they were turning the wrong nob.

Wasn't getting email updates for some reason so I didn't know there were replies. Anyhow, I will try all of this one more time. Thanks...
