View Full Version : EXE KonVex - 19x8.5 fit our coupe?
Takumi 10-06-2008, 06:23 PM Hey Guys,
Just went to G35 forum, and I am in love with these rims, will they fit in our coupe? anyone can do a photoshop with white coupe plz.
5x114.3 offset 33
Osiris_x11 10-06-2008, 06:32 PM I want a set of '04-'08 Maxima Nismo rims (19" x 8.5" w/ 35mm offset). According to the offset calculator, they'd stick out 1" more than OEM. I have a sedan, btw.
Some people suggested I'd have to roll my fenders.
Also, the Nissan/Infiniti hub-bore size is different than the Accord's, so hub-centric rings would be needed. . .
Takumi 10-06-2008, 06:35 PM can you give me the site that calculates it? Thanks
the one on the picture are 20" with 20 x 9 offset 20 front, 20 x 10 offset 23 back.

why dont you get rays g-games 77s, they're essentially the same wheels.
and 19x8.5 will fit very nicely on the coupe.

The Nismo's I speak of were $550/shipped for silver-finish & center-caps/valve-stems/lug-nuts/etc'.
Also, I have a sedan... :D (though, I have no idea what the OEM offset for the '08 Accord LX sedan's steelies is, or any other '08 Accord OEM wheel for that matter)
AznX TL 10-06-2008, 07:08 PM the 16 sedan wheels are 16x6.5j +55
the 17 sedan wheels are 17x7.5j +55
the coupe 17 wheels are 17x7.5j +55
and coupe 18" wheels are 18x8j +55

From the online offset calc' site...
Current Wheel Width: 6.5 inches
Current Wheel Offset: 55mm
New Wheel Width: 8.5 inches
New Wheel Offset: 35mm
Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 5mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 45mm
That's bad, I assume!

depends who you ask...
Osiris_x11 10-06-2008, 08:13 PM depends who you ask...I assume for an '08 Accord sedan, such an offset requires fender-rolling & removal of fender-liner(s)? :(

most likely, though depends on if you are lowered and by how much, and the tire size.
Osiris_x11 10-06-2008, 09:33 PM most likely, though depends on if you are lowered and by how much, and the tire size. Thanks so much for offering your insight/advice! Truly appreciate it, no lie.
The ride-height would be 'stock, and if ever lowered in the future, perhaps 1.5" to 2" at the MOST (more than likely 1.5" to be honest). To make the wheels fit, I wouldn't even lower to be honest. And if I did, I would use a proper adjustable coilover or Bilstein shock w/ a sport/track-spring, set at the higher perch (~1"-1.5" drop).
And regarding tire size, it'd be 245/40R19 as I'd want to keep as close to OEM as possible in terms of outer, rolling-diameter (as to not affect the speedo' and potentially rub while going over speed-bumps and/or pot-holes or lock-to-lock turns).
How's that sound? (man, thanks again for all the help. . .)
VTECaddict 10-06-2008, 10:24 PM people with 7th gens have gotten 18x8.5+35 to fit. i believe the 8th gen has wider fenders, so they should be able to fit...although probably pushing the limit.
depending on how flush the wheel is will be with the fender, or if it sticks out, you might need to go with a narrower tire so that the tire would still tuck under the fender when the suspension is compressed.

Osiris_x11 10-06-2008, 10:55 PM Thanks for the links. That's a very aggressive offset for the cars as it evidently appears in the pics, it'd intimidate me so much so that I'd sweat every time I went over a bump, pothole, speed-breaker, road-kill, unfinished road-shoulder, or such!
I'm hoping the '08+ fenders are in-fact noticeably wider, as any fraction of an inch can prove to be critical. . .
Finding an '08+ sedan (or even coupe) w/ an 8.5" width & 35mm offset rim would be incredibly convincing.
Worst comes to worse, I'll try to source a local-area G35 which has the 5x114.3 5-bolt 19" x 8.5" 35mm offset rim... and do a temporary swap to get an idea!

Osiris_x11 10-07-2008, 01:25 PM AznX TL... that's the wheel! Thanks a lot, my friend. It looks very nice on the 3rd gen' TL, I must say. Doesn't extend as far out as on the 7th gen' Accord coupes.
I've contacted a few local G35 guys, waiting to hear-back from them in regards to swapping on their 19"x8.5" +35mm rim & seeing how tucked-in it'll be.
If it doesn't jive, I'll just get the HFP 19" rims... they're hot (IMHO), just weigh a lot. Also, the $550/shipped Nismo 19"x8.5" +35mm rims (w/ center-caps, lug-nuts, valve-stems) have sold-out. I'm not even sure if the Honda TPMS would've been able to be swapped onto those.
The MSN Live.com ebay/paypal cash-back deal is effective again, I think it's up to 30% cashback & max' $250-per-transaction w/ 3 transactions-per-account permitted. Might have to see if any HFP 19" rims are on ebay as buy-it-now & sold ala' carte (individual wheels, not set of 4), in order to maximize the dealio'!
el Vato 10-13-2008, 10:43 PM Well this thread has given me some confidence the Nismo wheels I just bought will fit our 08 Accord Sedan. Now time to find some tires!
Throwdown 10-20-2008, 07:56 AM I really like those EXE KonVex rims... really wonder how they would fit...
