Is it me or this board seems kinda dead....

Maybe it's the tanking stock market that has everyone's mind occupied. I've lost enough $$$ last few days to pay for a 6 series but hey, money is not everything. Gotta be thankful for health, family and friends.

Cheers to everyone and have a nice weekend!

Nah man, it's not just you. Everyone's off to Auto Zone to buy-up all the chrome molding/trim... :D

Just remember, big losses potentially lead to bigger gains if you're patient/consistent/conservative/cool. . .

I'd say so, as this board is pretty active IMO.
I lost several 6 series myself a while ago, but never again. Money is made WORKING, not gambling IMO. And in the long term we're ALL DEAD:D. Imagine if you invested 'long term', and needed your money now:dunno:? But yes, I can sympathize with market loosers big time, since I lost real money, not previous gains. Too conservative for the stock market, I guess. Good evening.

Real estate, FTW!

(I don't mean ARM loans, over-extending home-equity, flipping properties, speculative land-grabs, zero down mortages, etc'... I mean being a slum-lord to section-8 recipients as the gov't pays you, all the while building long-term equity)

Hahah yeah (case in point with us last night!!)

I feel as if even though i am still somewhat new here i am one of the few posting everywhere keeping things going with the others who contribute alot ..
I guess I can't help being obsessed

I feel bad though ever since i talked to my grams the other night and heard her saying she was obsessed with watching the market every day to see the changes with her retirement money ...

I hope you're a prophet man, because that's exactly what I'm doing:D. Hope it doesn't backfire on me, but at this point, rather have it in houses than above the FDIC insurance ceiling.

By the way, about the 'long term' of the market, my 2 daughters have 'growth funds' (those are the only ones I haven't touched), one 17 years old, the other 15, and BOTH are BELOW the initial investment. And it's a pretty well known fund. Yes, people can make a lot of money in the stock market, and some do, but it's the great minority IMO; you really need to know what you're doing, and have the stomach (and finances) for that risk. Most investors thought of the market as a money tree, and risked way more than they should have, with the obvious consequences when things go wrong. Take care.

The stock market & market-capitalization is perhaps the biggest legal racket known to man.

All it is in the long-run is a very convoluted, elaborate, complex/advanced, and refined Ponzi scheme. . .

I'm riding this one out, too. FTW in the long term. My broker is buying tons of dirt cheap stock right now while everything is in the toilet.

But like you said, it won't stay like this forever. Buy while its low (that is, if you have a feeling its going to bottom out! lol)

It's gonna get a lot worse, and it's gonna be bad longer, than compared w/ the past.

However, if you're in it for the long-term & your relatively diversified... you'll be a-o.k.

If you're AARP-age, or soon-to-be... hmmm, I really feel for you (as for my parents, sighhh)!
... Maybe 8th gen-ers have a short attention span.:D... or they've run out of things to add the chrome molding/trim to! :D
