Put down a deposit today on an '04 EX-L V6 Sedan.
Will be picking it up on Saturday.

Got the graphite pearl, and it is a beautiful color.
Very similar to the Sagebrush on the Pilot.

I will update with pics and additional info. this weekend.
Be prepared, as I probably will not be able to stop taking pictures!

:D

Working w/ the dealer today (Wednesday) about deals on the accessories we want. The main items are the trunk lid and moonroof visor. Ideally, they can be installed while we go to lunch or something on Saturday. The dealer is about an hour North of me, but we saved ~$800 over the best deal I could find locally.

I was going to go the CarsDirect route, but was able to get the dealer to even beat that price by a few hundred. Our base price before options was only a few hundred over invoice. I think that is a great deal on an '04, considering they just came out.

Can't wait to pick her up on Sat.! :D

Bonus points to the first person to identify the movie that the title of this thread is from...

OK, picked her up last Saturday. Here are the details:

I was able to get the dealer to give me the CarsDirect price I had a print-out for, which was only about $300 over invoice. A GREAT deal, considering it is a 2004 EXL V6! Also was able to get my saleman to throw in the cargo tray and moonroof visor, which is what I had installed today.

You've probably heard it before, but this car rides and feels like a luxury car costing much more. Even at MSRP, I think the value you get from this car is worth the price.

Here is the first pic to get you started.
Not as clean as she should be, cause I had to drive her home from the dealer in the rain today.

Honda did a great job blending in the antenna for the XM satellite radio with the rest of the car.

The XM is really cool! They give you 3 months free, then it's ~$10 a month. Not sure if we will subscribe after the free trial, but we sure are enjoying it now!

Nice ride...

I've been reading, trying to find out the major differences betweent the 03 and 04 accord. I know the XM radio is one -- but what else did they change?

That was one of my big worries about the XM upgrade, but your right...looks like they did a great job with it. Congrats on the new ride!!

Thx for the compliments everyone!

zwierhiem...

Yes, the XM blends in perfectly w/ the car, both on the exterior and interior. You simply press the "CD / Aux / Sat" button and you have access to all the xm stations. You can also program the preset buttons for instant access to your favorite xm stations. It really is well designed.

Only other change I know about is that the side curtain airbags are now standard on the EXs. I believe they were just an option on the '03, but I'm not positive.

When I was at the dealer yesterday getting my moonroof visor and cargo tray, I had 2 service advisors and 1 saleperson ask me what that was on the top of my car!
"It's the antenna for the new XM radio" I told them.
"Wow, never seen that before. That's pretty cool!" they responded.

I think my '04 was the first they received on the lot, so it was still a new feature for them.

She's nice! I really liked the color choices they've been giving us! Keep us updated as you customize her to suit your taste.

The side airbags were standard in the EX's of '03 too.

Did you go with the Nav? Our Accord's Nav is better than the Pilot's... searching is easer, the screen is bigger, saving places you've been....

When we tinted the windows it effected the GPS antenna, (it was in the rear deck) so we simply moved it to inside the spoiler & now we get even more sats. than ever before! We can never leave "well enough" alone!!

I can't remember -- were the side airbags standard on all EXs? For some reason, I think they were standard on EX-V6, optional on the 4-c? I could be totally wrong.

front side: DX-no, optional for LX, standard on EX, & both V6's

side curtain: only EX V6 ( in '04 available on both EX's)

all have front on both sides

That's what I was thinking.
Here is what I got off Edmunds:

"What's New for 2004
As the Accord was fully redesigned for the 2003 model year, there are only a few of changes on '04 models. Availability of side curtain airbags has been expanded this year to four-cylinder EX models -- standard on those with leather, optional on cars with a cloth interior. All four- and six-cylinder EX models equipped with a leather interior now have XM Satellite Radio with three months of free service as standard equipment. And as with all Honda cars this year, a new seatbelt reminder system is standard. Accord models meeting California's stringent Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) standards -- all four-cylinder sedans equipped with automatic transmission -- will now be sold in the states of New York, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.
