As the title suggests, I was wondering if its worthwhile to change the factory speakers in a 2005 Accord EX (not sure if Canadian and american model gets the same speakers, but i am in Canada). I was just at Future Shop and it would run me about 550$ to swap out to Infinity speakers but I really cant be sure if i'll even notice much difference especially since I am not changing my CD player. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

crutchfield.com should be helpful.

looks like a good site, but i cant seem to find any info on it about whats already in the car... factory speakers on 05 accord, are they junk?
anyone have any idea how well the factory cd player will be able to handle a pair of these:

I would stay away from futureshop and order from crutchfield or similar places that ship to canada unless you want them to install it as well. Retail places such as bestbuy(futureshop)/circuit city are 99% of the time way more expensive than online equivalents. What specs are your car? i have no idea about the 7th gens but i assume they have different audio packages for each trim level.

If/when you upgrade your speakers, you will notice an increase in sound quality but a slight "drop in volume" (mostly low-end frequencies). It's best to purchase efficient speakers (sensitivity > 90dB) that do not require many RMS watts to produce sound. Boston Acoustics S-series speakers are great for factory speaker swaps.

What do you feel is missing from the factory setup? Overall clarity? Lows? There are a handful of ways you can achieve what your ears desire.

I would say the sound lacks clarity, its pretty bland but really the sound is not that bad, well at least compared to my other car with factory speakers (1998 Maxima)
