Just got today a nice lil package containing my new chrome handles, the material is amazing and the mirror finish is unbelievable!!

The kit came with everything for the sedan as well as this stuff called
K-520 Primer Adhesion Promoter which as it states is for creating a more official bond with the 3M tape that comes on the underside of the handles ...

Instructions are to wipe handles down with alcohol wipe included than put this K520 stuff on and apply handles, once used the tape with the handles cannot be used again (its a one shot deal I am guessing) ...

Question is, anyone use this stuff and is it safe in terms of if i want to take the handles off down the road will it peel paint ... Should i just use the 3M tape that came attached to the handles instead, or will that not hold as good in the long run??

I want to do this today, so will post pics later ... Can anyone help out here?

The 3M tape should not be a problem to remove down the road...but I'm not sure on the K520 stuff. You might want to do the 3M until you are sure you like it..

Thanks for the speedy response, ...

With further research K-520 is a product that cleanses an area of any oils or waxes before applying an adhesion
to the surface (helps keep the 3M on pretty well for the long run)... On another forums someone explained that Goo gone after you take chrome trim off completely removes any surface build up from the 3M tape and adhesion wipe ...

Problem is my car is not even 2mos old .. Its an '09 will it ruin to some degree the new finish on the handles (the K-520) it says using a cloth wipe over the area before applying 3M ... I don't know what to do lol ...
