Is there a detailed DIY out there on how to remove the '05 coin holder/pocket/whatever to install a SNHOND3 adapter? Is it any different than the 03-04?

Behind the pocket...About how much room is there? I'm looking to put in:
- RCA sockets
- Ciggarette lighter adapter
Both of these would be inside the pocket. Will there be room behind the storage compartment to hold the bulkheads?

There is a TON of room behind the pocket.
I have all the wiring from the DVD player, and a handsfree kit in there now.
The biggest struggle for me is the RCA jacks that hit the back of the pocket. Im giong to get some 90 degree ones to change them with.
What do you want to put a cigarette lighter adapter in there for?

In what way do the RCA jacks hit the back of the pocket? I need enough depth to get an entire cig lighter adapter back there. Plus the SNHOND3 and associated cables.
I want to mount my Sirius radio in the pocket, but I want to do it neatly. If I can have quick-disconnects for the RCAs and the power, it'll look clean as hell if I take it apart.
Edit: BTW, thanks for e-mailing me the DIY.

I'll take a photo the next time I open it to put in the RCA jacks.
The jacks are like an inch long on the back of the DVD player that is already pretty long.
Im getting the 90 degree jacks then it should have the clearance it needs. Thats all I can see that is hitting.
There is a ton of room on the bottom of the pocket for wires, etc. Wait till you see the ton of stuff I have there.
I bought the SNHOND3 parts and wound up not using it. Ill make ya a smoking deal on it! I used a METRA kit instead.

Note: If using a SNHOND03 w/ a cigarette lighter adapter...
This will cause a ground loop that will cause what is similar to a 60hz hum in the system. Get a 'ground loop isolator' and install that to cut out the hum. Search Radio Shacks site for one, they carry them.
You do not get this running a device that is on battery power through the SNHOND03.

Thanks! Is there enough room back there for a cigarette lighter bulkhead, SNHOND3, ground loop isolator and all the related wires?

How the #$*#$*# do I get the damn shift boot off of the MT model? The instructions at www.handaaccessories.com say to squeeze the ring while pulling the boot down. I do this, but the boot won't move!

14mm open end wrench. Unscrew the nut at the bottom, its just a lock nut for the knob.

If you can fit the rest, you can fit the ground loop. It's a quick soder from what I hear and is just a thin wire.

I don't see any lock nuts, I just want to take the shift knob off of the shifter.

The nut at the bottom is not connected to the knob, they are 2 seperate pieces. You screw on the knob to the position you want then crank the nut from below it until it tightens up.
I found this out on my 6MT recently.
To get it off, reverse that procedure......
I have not changed the shift knob from the factory one, so if yours does not have a lock nut below the knob, maybe they are on the 6 speed models only?????

Actually, I got it off while I was on my lunch hour. Just took a bit of straining (I didn't want to push too hard, I just got this thing on Saturday!).
Now billinaz, about that SNHOND3 you have lying around.....:)
