I have an '07 V6 with the stock 17" wheel and the Michelin's don't look very promising for getting me through another winter. I've found a set of '05 V6 16" alloys off of CL that I'm looking to pick up today and mount Nokians or Blizzaks that will get me up to Mt. Washington for some winter hikes in Feb.

First question is will the '05 Alloys fit my '07? I don't know if these came off a coupe or sedan? Second question is what is the best snow tire bang for the buck? TIA.

Welcome to DA.

Any 5 lug OEM Accord wheel from 1998 to present will fit. You just have to be careful of downsizing. While I used 15" steel wheels from a 1998 LX V6 on my 06 Accord, I wouldn't go smaller than 16" on a 2008+ . . .

The 05 wheels you mentioned will fit.

As for snow tires, I've alway been partial to Nokians. I've run Hakkas for years - reg snow, and studded - and they've been excellent. Advantage over the Blizzaks, the Blizzaks special ice compound is only the top third or so of the tread giving you maybe 2 - 3 years of true "studless" grip. My Nokias gripped until they were well worn down. Down side is they are more expensive - but you do get a few more years out of them as true snow tires.

Consider minus one sizing . . . a more narrow tire goes better in the snow.

I agree with everything Trip has just said.

I also run on Nokian Hakka Rs. The grip is fantastic but it is pricey compared to Blizzaks or X-Ices.

Thanks for the warm welcome and fast responses. Where did you buy your Hakka's from?
