can anyone tell me how to put the automatic transmission shift cable on my 1989 Accord sedan.

*bump* I'm no expert myself, but I can suggest that you google it, and/or look into getting a shop manual such as Chilton or Haynes (you say you're interested in doing your own work). Personally I did a little searching online and found how to solve a problem I'm having with my car.
