View Full Version : User section for TSBs, bulletins, etc...
Wards,
It has come to my attention that princess has access to Honda TSB, service bulletins, etc...Her "prince" is a Honda tech.
Do you have access to the same info.?
Could we create another section were users can post to, or add that capability to the existing section?

Yes, I do have access to the factory website for dealers, but I would love to have other's input, time and effort. My "day job" keeps me really busy. So, I can't devote the time this site really deserves.

If anyone can tell me how to convert PDF (acrobat) files to something postable here I'd put the bulletins, recalls & installation instructions on here for you. I just can't figure out how to change them! It won't let me save them in any other format. Any ideas???? :sorry:

You will need the Adobe Acrobat Distiller and it will have to be at least version 5.0, as some of the newest PDF's from Honda are not viewable in 4.0
You can always email me anything and I either put it in a folder online for you to link or I can convert it for you.

I have version 5.1, I can see them, I just don't know how to post them for others to see. Is there a way?? When I tried to just post a bulletin as is, it said it was an unsupported format. In text only I can copy & paste, but when there's graphics I need to be able to do the whole thing. I'm not very computer savvy, but my husband can usually help me. He says this is something he's also stumped on. Is there some sort of converting program? This is the first type I have been unable to save under another format, so I can use it someplace else.
If it can be figured out, then I may be able to help with the public on the "how-to's", & bulletins.

I've updated the upload extensions to include pdf and doc.
Let's try it.

Thanks!! I'll try & sit down this week putting as many as I can on. I'll do separate threads for installs & bulletins. I'll start with '04 & work my way backwards. Rearrange as you see fit. I'll just help get the info out there, OK?
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I wanted so badly to help people out & just couldn't get it done.

If I may make a suggestion: create a new thread for each PDF you upload and make the title the name of the PDF, like I did for the instructions and bulletins I have put up. That way, it makes it easier for someone to browse the section and do a search.
Another suggestion...
Can we get two sub-categories under the Member Tech category?
Something like this:
Member Tech
- 2004
- 2003
That way users would only have to browse their applicable year.
This would also be useful to group the installation instructions into 2 door and 4 door sub-categories.

OK, now I have several 04, 2 door instructions ready to put on somewhere. I went to the install catagory. There's no buttons for starting a new thread. I went into one catagory hit the "new thread" botton & it says nope, I can't. I'm really not THAT blonde! I must be missing something though! Am I trying to get into somewhere that's an admin only area? Should I put these in a talk area??? Step 1:???? Step 2:?????
Help!!!
Hey princess...
First, are you naturally blonde or ..... :joker:
Are these instructions ones that Wards has not already posted?

I looked through some of his & they were for the 03's so I'm gathered 04's & then I'll go backward to 02, 01....
I realized that most of the 03 & 04 will be the same, but if someone is looking for something they may not look in the year they don't have.
Part numbers may be different too.
I'm trying........:sorry:

I put one in the "accessories" place. Since that's what most of these are, do you think that will work??
Your posts should be in the Member's Tech area.
The Installation Instructions are "read-only" for us...only Wards can post to that section.
Try posting them to Member's Tech and see if that works.
J/K about the naturally blonde thing!
You'll find I tend to joke alot and not get too serious about things.
Helps to keep the stress level at a minimum!

I'll try there.
My way to not stress over jokes that could lead to trouble is to ignore them.
No comment doesn't always mean any offense is taken. I know this is a primarily male forum & I'm just struggling along to help out. I like the fact this place exsists & the more info one can gather here, the more success the site will have!
Thanks for the help!!

I put one in the tech area. It doesn't seem to fit that profile though. That's where I'll put the bulletins. I wish the admin tell me where he wants these. I don't want to mess anything up!! Can he move them easily if he doesn't like where they are?
I can move them for you, but don't worry too much about it.
This place is very informal, and we can change the category later, if need be.
You started w/ the blonde comments, so I was just adding to the banter. I really apologize if I offended you, that was not my intent. Was just meant to be a cute comment, nothing more, nothing less.
I don't know that I'd say this is a primarily male forum.
Sure, maybe we outnumber the females here, but interaction is welcomed by all members. I have no idea what the mix is right now, but make no mistake about it, your contributions are really appreciated.

I'm really not offended! I've had a life time of blonde jokes & short jokes. ( I'm 4'11")
Yes, everything is natural, even my nails!
Just take a view from my perspective... I'm in a male world here, I'm not out to do any soapbox speeches, I'm not aiming for any kind of trouble.
Think of me as MOM.... trying to use the info that I have access to to inform the interested.

How did I do for today??
That's all I'm doing right now. There's now '04 & '02 instructions & several bulletins.
I had to take a break & use another Honda... my lawn mower. Then move my baby out of the garage because I have a new dryer arriving anytime now. They delivered the wrong color last week & it had to be reordered.
Later......

Princess - THANKS!
I have opened up the installation instructions so you may post direct. The bulletins and such can still go in the Member's Tech area.

If only Honda made dryers!

I'm very brand loyal & all my appliances are GE, even the small ones. If Honda made them, I'd own them!! Maybe I should start faxing them about it.;)
They don't have a way to email them. That's probably smart on their part. They'd get tons!! Advise, complaints, suggestions.....
Several years back my Prince was at one of the "top tech" competions in SoCal & he was afraid I'd have something to say to the higher ups that were there. We'd just bought VERY first Honda & I had a few suggestions. Kept my trap shut though!
He also had that fear when we were at the PX when he was in the USAF! I did hum "Mickey Mouse Club" behind the base honcho. I was upset because our neighbors hadn't trimmed their lawn & we got written up for it! One guy, whose only job was to drive around the base looking for unkept yards & he couldn't even get the address right! I got over it.... really I did! It's only been 26 years!! But really I'm over it!
