I'm in the process of obtaining a CDL because a seasonal gig I do often requires the transportation of placardable hazardous materials (not in my Accord, thankfully). I've already done the written test and gotten the permit. Only thing left is practice and road test (and other stuff like background check to get hazmat endorsement).
I have to do it in a truck that's over 18000 GVWR for a class C license or over 26000 for a class B (company is taking care of that). I'm not doing class A for now because I don't plan on driving a tractor-trailer.
Anyone here ever got a CDL? How hard is the road test? Anything I should look out for that the inspector asks?
I know most people go to a trucking school, but I don't think I need to, since the only reason I need a CDL is to transport hazmat, and I don't plan on becoming a full time trucker.
