mms got down to 15% so I bought 5 quarts of Mobil 1 5-20 and used my last leftover unused filter from old my 91 ex and 15 minutes later, DONE!
I know I have been a bigtime fanboy of this car in previous posts, but damn was it easy to do this oil change. You can drain the oil and remove the filter at the same time if your drainpan is big enough! And finally, a downward facing oil filter that doesn't run oil all down the back of the motor when loosened. Hazah!:D
My mileage is fast approaching 60k and I am comfortable doing the drain and fill on the tranny as well as both air filters, but how do you adjust the e-brake? Mine doesn't grab until WAY at the top of the pull so I know it is in need of some work.
Thanks, and yes, I love this car...

What you describe with e-brake is alarming, the e-brake is suppose to self-adjust as you back-up the car and then go foward again, do you ever reverse your car?

It sounds like you may need to have the e-brake mechanism inspected or free up since something may have started to bind/seize.......

I back out of my driveway every morning. Do I need to stop with the e brake to make sure it is being adjusted?
How come I am reading all about dissembling the center console to get at an adjustment nut if it is self adjusting?

Ah, yes there is an adjustment nut at the bottom of the parking brake handle area, you have to remove the center console to get to it, it's a bit of work to get there, i.e. the shift knob, the trim bezel around the bottom of the shifter, the "not-an-ashtray" piece, the cup-holder all need to be removed first, at least according to the factory service manual (pages 20-122/123).

You then need to jack up the rear-end of the car while you tighten the ajustment nut to ensure the parking brake is fully released when you do lower the parking brake handle.

The question would be was this parking brake not working properly in the past? i.e. has it always been this way? If so perhaps this should/could be under the factory warranty coverage, you should check with the dealership to see if it is covered.

But just for giggles, try repeatedly haul up and lower the hand-brake and see if the situation improves, it's free and just might fix this issue.

Should I do it as I'm going around a corner at 30mph? :naughty:

It's too bad Honda couldn't make it easy like the old Accords.

My 96, you open the center console, take all your stuff out, pop a cover off, and there it is, the E-brake cable adjustment.

A shame!

Wish my I4 oil filter was that easy. Above the driveshaft and try not to get any on the shaft when you pull it out is about impossible. Plus you have to have small arms to reach the stupid thing. You would think they would come up with a better way after all these years.
