I have 2000 Honda Accord V6 running at 96,000 miles. I have put in new battery, alternator, and starter recently. Since yesterday, I have been experiencing some weird problems when starting the car.

Yesterday morning, when I try to start the car, I could feel the starter kicked in after ignition, and the engine shaked hard for a second before it stopped. I tried several times, and it did the same. After few minutes, when I tried again, the car started with engine shaking pretty hard, but it kept running at very low rpm. I shut off the car, tried to start the car couple more time, and it acted normal again. For the rest of the day, the car started ok without any problem.

Similar problem happened again tonight. After starting the car, the engine shakes very hard. It feels like that engine was choking and could not run smoothly. And the problem went away again after few tries.

I also noticed that the car does not shift smoothly. And sometime while driving at low speed, it would improperly shift to a lower gear and suddenly reduce the speed.

I read some posts regarding faulty transmission with 2000 accord, I don't know if my problem is related to that. Does someone know what is wrong with my car?

A shot in the dark- maybe a sticky idle air control valve..
If it gives you trouble starting again, try holding the throttle open juuust a hair.
