I'm getting a 2004 Accord EX V6 with rear discs in about a week. I'm planning on servicing the brakes since it has 46,000km and I was wondering if there are any tricks to the rear disc brakes. Will I need a special tool to loosen the rear calipers (I know some cars need a tool that looks like a little cube to loosen the rear calipers)?
I've done this on the rear discs of a Grand Am which allowed you to loosen the calipers with a simple c-clamp.

In my 6th gen you needed a special thing similar to a large flathead screwdriver to twist the piston and line it up with the pad or something...still exist for the 7th gen?

Had rear pads replaced and failed to check parking brake after picking up car.. Approx 4k miles later I used the park brake for the first time and found it wouldn't hold on the slightest grade.. Lever pulls way up. Before pad replacement lever came up 6 to 8 or so clicks and held great...Firestone tells me the left caliper is bad and needs replacement...Brakes are fine , less the parking brake issue....is there an adjustment or a part within the caliper that went out after the pads were done??? Car has 37k miles and is garaged and babied.Seems like calipers should last a lot more than 37k miles.....Any help appreciated.

Don't hijack a thread, just use the one you posted.
To the OP, you need the equivalent of a flathead to screw the caliper back in.
