View Full Version : All-Weather Mats – OEM or Aftermarket?

Has anyone had any experience with Honda’s all-weather mats and/or aftermarket ones? I looked at the Honda ones at my dealer and wasn’t overly impressed with them. I’ve also seen that Weathertech makes them for the Accord and claims that they (the fronts at least) are a custom fit. I had Husky Liners in my last vehicle and they were great, but it doesn’t appear that they're available for the Accord.

Any opinions and other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have the OEM all-weather mats. They're not bad, but they're not great. Water tends to collect in pools at the sides and then overflow. I have salt from the winter water outlining where the mat was. This, for me, was especially true behind the accelerator and along the left side of the driver's side mat. Basically where my feet would rest, the water would simply pool there and then overflow, rather than getting channeled more evenly through the mat.

Basically, they didn't do that great of a job at keeping the water off the floor. They're not designed properly to keep the water from spilling over, or your pants out of them, for that matter.

They seem designed for the occasional wet day, not for true "all weather" snowy Canadian winters.

I'd give them a C- grade. Better than having cloth mats in in the wintertime, but I think that you could do much better.

I, too, would be interested in finding out any higher quality mats, particularly if they were cut to fit, and/or had the nice under-seat hooks that the OEM ones have to keep them stable on the floor.

i got the ones from HondaAcuraworld when they had the special mats, trunk tray and mud flaps. I wish the drivers side was longer. It doesnt get closed enough to the gas pedal and the carpet is all dirty there from the snow. I dont even hook it to the floor hooks. When it get below zero like -30 they freeze in the shape of the car. Other than that I like them.

I have the weathertechs in my coupe and would reccomend them. nice fit with deep pockets to hold water. The black ones are outlined with a red stripe. I'll see if I can snap a picture this weekend.

I'm a sucker and bought the OEM All-Season Mats from Honda. I personally think they fit much better than the Weathertech ones I had in my old car. They fit perfectly around the brake pedal and the accelerator, and I don't get much spill over. I haven't been through a winter with them yet, but I can say with my old ones I would get the "salt rim" around the outside of my weathertech ones. They look good to me, I got black which goes with my interior and they say "Accord" alond the sides of the front mats. The rear ones seem to fit much better too, eventhough my only backseat passenger has 4 legs and stays on the seat!

Heres some pics of the weathertech mats, I don't have the rear ones. I just cut some of that clear rug mat stuff and put it over the OEM cloth ones since I rarely ever have anyone in the back seat.
I know they are dirty but hey... they are doing their job right?

I've given up on my Honda OEM all seasons.

I've decided that for next winter I'm going to get plastic sheeting and put that on the floor.

Where can you find that? I'm looking for something that's almost like tape that comes in sheets you can roll out on the carpet.

Stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway. Has anyone tried the mats from Costco? They are pretty cheap and look like they will hold a lot of water for rain and snow. Any opinions?

Home depot or any home improvement or hardware store should have them. It's a pretty common construction material.

Really? I've searched at my local HD and Lowe's and haven't found it. What section should I be looking in?
