when the car is cranked up and idles... the rpm's go from 1000 to 2000 back and forth back and forth.
i turn off the car and unplug the tps and the rpm's stay high.
with the tps unplugged and the rpm's staying high, i believe the tps works fine since it is trying to bring the throttle back down to acceptable norms.
i unplug the map sensor and it idles lower than normal, but at least it is idling.
i swapped the map sensor a few minutes ago... then connected the battery and cranked it up... idled constant at 1200 rpm... after a few minutes i revved it up a little to get it to drop to normal rpm and then it started revving up and down again.
what the hell is going on?
anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the engine is drawing air from somewhere, it may well be the inlet manifold gasket leaking, but look elswhere first as if you remove the inlet manifold you will need a new gasket anyway. lol.. :banana: :)
