so for those that put HIDs or did some work on the ft of the car

did you

take off the ft bumper cover

or

take the ft wheels off and work from behind

w/ my experience w/ my oddy and putting HIDS, after the install i could never get the ft bumper cover to align perfectly again. so i'm afraid it'd be the same w/ the accord.

also the DDM ballast are so small.

I also had small ballast from xetronics. I took the bumper off. You will need someone to help you. The procedure is relatively simple. There are very hepfull DIY's under the 8th generation forum complete with pictures that I used. The tricky part is the clips under the headlights. Be patient or they will break. I choose to take off the bumper because I wanted a good spot to place the ballasts.

I took my front bumper off and it did realign after some struggles with it. What I did was first put the top clips in on the hood, then go to the sides with the wheel wells and put the screws in. Then snap the 3 clips for the sides of the bumpers in, the tricky part for me was getting the clips from under the bumper to line up right. I took a screw driver and put it in one of the center holes and used it to wedge the bumper into the right location for the first clip then worked my way across the bottom. After I got all the clips and screws in I went to the headlights and pushed on the bumper and the clips under the headlights just popped right in. Everything came out just the way it started, but it would have been definitely easier with two people. Here a thread with some pics, the last one shows the bumper after everything is reassembled. I can get more if you want to see close up.

haha same for me, but i trust the stuff i've gotten from Todd for a long time now, therefore i will deal with my giant rock ballasts haha.

i took my bumper off like 3 times now since one of my ballasts was acting wierd. has always lined up perfectly going back on. i think i've broken one plastic clip on each side though. but 1 of 7. i think i've come out pretty good after 3 times, and it seems it's the same clip i always get caught on, but since it's broken now, it comes off with a lighter tug.

note: i've done this by myself every time. it's really not too difficult. just have a towel on the ground in front of the car so when you tug it off it's on the towel.

went from behind like you're suppose to when you change a light bulb.
if you're changing the driver side bulb, turn your wheel to the right so you have open access to the wheel lining and then to the headlight. i didnt even bother to take off the lining. i took off a few clips enough to fit my arm in then went to work.
and then on the passenger side, just turn it left. pretty easy concept.

I'm going to have to 2nd aznx, it's really not necessary to take the bumper off. Technicians do it through the fender liner taking like 4 screws/clips off. We're not all experts like them, however even a complete noob will be able to do it if you take the wheel off and remove the front of the fender liner. Plenty of space to work with and no body panel alignment issues.

Also, should you have an issue and need to replace the ballasts (like I'll have to do) it's much less time consuming to access the ballast through the wheel well. And if you're concerned about mounting points, don't be, there's some very good places to choose from.

from behind the fender cause for warranty purposes.

from behind the fender cause for warranty purposes.

Why would there be warranty issues taking the bumper off? Or do you mean if the car goes in for repair it's easy to remove the HIDs if installed through the fender liner?

took the bumper off and just turned the wheels to get through the well. the bumper re-aligned fine for me, i just had to take my time putting it back on. helps to have an extra set of hands around in the process though.

I am going to print out the DIY for the wheel well lining just in case, take it to a local shop, and have it done. That is if thes F*#kers ever get here. I ordered them at the very beginning of the month and they still haven't arrived. I am sure it is a quality kit but apparently some documentation on their side was missing/incorrect causing a customs delay. The anxiety is killing me.

Sorry that I'm off topic but can some one do a DIY on how to remove the rear bumper. I know there is a thread here that tell you how but I'm not good with instruction only good with picture. Call me dumb but I'm not very good with imagination. Thanks anyway

Take the bumper off. Prime real estate for placing the ballast. It really isn't that hard and +1 on the extra set of hands.
