Okay, I have a dimming lights problem but not the kinda problem you might think. It seems to me that when I have my headlights on at night and I either press the brakes or turn on my blinker, the lights will ever so slightly dim for a second and then go back to normal. If I wait between 5-10 seconds (sitting at a stop light with the blinker on) they will do it again. Reminder, this is a very faint dimming, almost so faint that you can barely tell. What I am thinking is that the blinker or the abs for the brakes is drawing the extra energy from my battery and dimming the lights ever so slightly. I just bought a brand new battery about a month ago. Ideas?

my 93 used to do this.... the blame can be placed on the alternator not getting enough power.....
the only thing that i can think of would be to get a more powerful alternator...
others can chime in if they have any other thoughts.... :)

The batts honda uses and specs is dismal - around 410cca in the 4 and 550 in the 6 - too small to have any reserve...the competition uses 700 cca - go to walmart and get a real batt - in your case just live with it as your batt is new...also make sure your connections are good between the batt and alternator - corrosion can suck a good percentage of power from the system...

I did buy an Everstart Maxx from Wal-mart. 750 CCA. No corrosion either. Doesn't seem like it is a battery problem.

I have the same issue with my 7th Generation: Every once in awhile it looks like my headlights are very quickly dimming-- Just for a split second. I haven't noticed if this is in conjunction with another electrical function kicking on (such as AC cycling), but I suppose it could be.
Either way, this is the first car I've ever had with this problem, and so far I'm at a loss to explain it. I'd like to get a solid idea of what this could be before submitting it to the dealer for possible repair (my car's still under warranty), as I don't want to get the age old, "Couldn't reproduce problem" thing from them... :headbash:

honestly, i highly doubt there is anything wrong with the car here.... honda's are known that under load from lots of different electrical sources (a/c, headlights, 4 way flashers) that the lights on the interior will flicker a bit along with the headlights....
my 93 did it, my 99 does it, and my mom's 97 did it..... i wouldn't worry too much about it. if you do take it to the dealer, it may be a fruitless cause....

common issue in all hondas to at least some degree. nothing is broken, its just a honda "quirk". its been heavily discussed in the 8th gen forum if you want to read up on it.

I got the very same problem on my 04' V6 EXL Accord. Changed the battery last Sunday (Costco 640 CCA) and the problem still there. I just read your thread and some of the responses and I will look into the cable between the batt-alter next.
I get better start with the new battery. Temp in Denver was 5 yesterday morning and 7 this morning and no problem.
I hope we can find the problem
