I bought some of this stuff og Ebay a while ago (for another car) and - had a bunch left, so I applied it to our new Accord today.

This is essentially a clear film (like the one that clear bras are made of, or paint protection kits). You clean the door edge with alcohol. The tape is about 3/4 inch wide. It's quite stretchable when you are putting it on (very important for back door). All you need is a semi-steady hand, plenty of light and about 10 minutes per door if you are really picky and taking your time.

I have the same on my other car for over 2 years now, it's also a white car, and it saved me from numerous door edge chips.

The tape is just slightly sticky, and it goes off easily. When applying it - if you screwed up - you can just pull it off and reapply.

They sell this stuff on Ebay. Search for "clear door edge". They list them for specific car models, but - if you read, it says it is tape - hence - it can be applied to anything. And it's clear.

I took a few photos earlier today. Note that I deliberately tried to take a photo under the angle that you can see it the most, so you can see how it looks.

For those that will say "why did you not just get Honda OEM door edge guard" - well, I had this tape so why not use it? And if you have small kids and park your cars in the garage - you know the value of the door edge guard...

My uncle got these installed for free on his Odyssey when they installed the clear bra. They even double layered it. Kinda useless if you ask me, 2 of his doors slide and they're powered, and nobody sits in the front passenger seat, and that leaves only the drivers door, which he is very careful about. :dunno:

Looks like you did a good job with the rear door, considering that it's curved.

thats a great idea! i am gonna do that asap. it might seem useless now but wait until you get your car back from a shop where some careless idiot opens your door into a wall leaving a 1" long scrape on the edge of your door (like what happened to me at the dealer :( )

Do you really think they're that ugly?!? :dunno:

When I was at the Cape recently I saw two satin silver Accords that had them on and I thought they looked really good. In fact, I didn't even see them until I was up close. I decided to look into them when I got back and, for starters, $45 + for a set of 4 door edge guards is ridiculous and but then I read the instructions! Cut the painted seams on all 4 doors and use touch-up paint before installing the door edge guards?!? No thanks!
