Hi guys, just a few quick questions. I'm a current 2001.5 VW New Passat GLX 4-Motion and have been looking for a replacement (I prefer to have a car under warranty) that has a manual tranny. I've narrowed it down to two choices, one is a 2003 VW Passat GLX 5-Speed, the other is a 2004 Accord Coupe EX V6 6-Speed. I'm smitten with the power of the Accord, but I find it's lacking certain small features that I really like about my Passat. Things like memory driver's seat, Auto-tilt down mirror when in reverse, Trip Computer (I'm surprised this is missing from the Accord) and every button being illuminated. Though, I do get 240HP in trade, compared to 190 in the Passat. Both cars are excellent in fit and finish and quality, so that is not an issue. I guess my dilemma is whether or not the extra power is a worthy trade-off for all those little features:sorry: Anybody here own a 6-Speed Coupe?
I'd probably go w/ the Passat.
Hehe... Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!
Accord all the way!
Trading all that horespower for those minor features is silly, imo.
Go with the Accord... you won't regret it!

The Passat does have nice touches that the Accord doesn't and has a nicer exterior IMHO. If you weren't plaqued with the reliability issues that have surfaced with it in the last 3 model years (air pump, coils mostly) and haven't been turned off by VW dragging there feet on these issues (one coil at a time until recently), than another one will be waiting for you. They are nice driving vehicles.
It is a good idea to keep these under warranty. They can get quite expensive after.
You do know the Passat will be resytled next year (2005 model).
