While doing an oil change at 31K, I noticed a groove forming in the back side of the serpentine belt. The tensioner pulley way rough in the center. My mechanic said he had seen an '06 V6 doing the same thing just a day earlier. Have there been others observing this? Since I am still in warranty, its going to the dealer Monday. Might be a good idea to check yours if you have not been under the hood in a while.

My V6 shows no issues like that.
I've also seen others, no issues.

Was your car sitting on the lot before you bought it? Some rust could have formed on the smooth pulleys which can cause some wear issues on the belt.
Or it's just a poorly stamped or machined pulley.

No. If it is happening to your car, it is easy to spot. Look for a 1/4" groove in the center of the belt (the top, smooth part).

Don't see it on mine, how long is the warranty, i only got the basic, is it like 2-3 years?
