View Full Version : Lowering 05 Hybrid 69T 02-14-2009, 10:11 PM Has anyone lowered there 05 Accord Hybrid,I've contacted Eibach and they don't make lowering springs for it. Anyone have any suggestions.:dunno: Accordlover 02-15-2009, 04:20 AM My only suggestion is don't use lowering kits for other Accord models. The suspension parts are stronger on the hybrid to handle the weight of the batteries and other hybrid only parts. 07AccordEx-L 02-15-2009, 04:23 PM tein coilovers =) VTECaddict 02-15-2009, 05:32 PM parts made for the regular accords will bolt right up. Jiraiya_13 02-16-2009, 07:57 PM Yup try the v6 springs if anything or coilovers so you can adjust dampening as well, depends which one you get. davidwells@mac. 02-20-2009, 06:08 AM tein coilovers =) I just dropped off my 06 Hybrid w/ a box of Tein-H's. (I ordered the Acura TL package, but was told they'd fit fine.) When I get it back, I'll post before & afters to share w/ you. bluesolara 02-21-2009, 11:38 PM tein basics...here's my hybrid... http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinscar013.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinscar016.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinscar021.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinspicutres-cars008.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinspicutres-cars020.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinspicutres-cars021.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinspicutres-cars022.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee63/boyfaith/kevinspicutres-cars023.jpg no problems so far..just don't drop it all the way like I did in the last few pics...pretty much a 4 inch drop...on steep driveways I scrape the exhaust...there's a wire next to the exhaust...so go ahead and get the coils and lower it about 3 inches like the first pics I posted...it's a perfect ride height davidwells@mac. 02-22-2009, 01:10 PM tein basics...here's my hybrid... BlueSolara, that's very NICE!, I do like the white w/ black wheels. I had a Civic Si like that. (http://www.davidwells.com/cars/casper/03si_800x600.jpg) I sold it a few weeks ago, sniff I did get my Accord back yesterday and it's almost a 2" drop. More than I expected, but its growing on me :D http://www.davidwells.com/cars/carmen/06HAH_oblique_after_p.jpg http://www.davidwells.com/cars/carmen/HAH_drop_compare10_p.jpg More comparison pics here... (http://davidwells.com/cars/carmen/drop_feb09.html) In regard to weight, the best I can find out is the Hybrid weights about 150lbs more than the V6 and 80% of that is in the back (batteries). For this project, my goals were to keep the stock wheels and only drop the nose a bit to hide the gaping "cat hole" and hopefully increase my highway mpg (I'm trying to get 40mpg; 38's my best so far.) My '98 coupe had front & rear 2" drop and would bump in the rear when I had passengers. Going to drive it as is for a few weeks before deciding to drop the rear of the Hybrid or not. ~~~~~~~~~ 06HAH, 06HCH-II, and other misc. vehicles... HCF 02-22-2009, 02:27 PM Aftermarket springs use stiffer spring rates, I would not fear using the standard v6 ones on your hybrid. |
