There seems to be an updated instruction available at handaaccessories.com, for the 2004 mirror. The one you posted only said that the 03 mirror won't work on the 04.

No problem! I just don't browse through the tons of instructions, so when I hear of a need, I look.....you guys usually hear about stuff before I do. :)

I can tell you first hand that the 03 model is not compatible with the 04. The wiring harness under the dash is missing some essential pins that relate to the side curtain air bags. Beside that, the installation is the same.

I learned this the hard way when an unnamed parts supplier sent the wrong one by mistake. They sent me the correct one at no charge. The second installation went much quicker than the first.
