Does anyone have a source for a reasonably priced PCM for a 2000 V6?
A co-worker has been having problems sometimes with the car not wanting to stay running right after starting without blipping the gas, it had been suggested as possible bad ground in the PCM........

I'm guessing it not the ECM, but something else...

PCM- powertrain control module
Has this car been starting hard hot after sitting for a little while? When they start it, does it require opening the throttle and once it's released does it nearly stall?
2000 V6s had issues with vapor lock forming in the fuel rails. There is a PCM re-flash or replacement and a new fuel pressure regulator to up the rail pressure to prevent vapor bubbles from forming in the rail.
Many V6 gen 6s have had issues with IAC valves sticking either open or closed.
There's also some with spray pattern issues with the injectors.
If the PCM is replaced the immobilizer won't work and the car won't run.

Thanks Fred, I'll pass the info onwards.

Sounds similar, he says he'll start the car fine, drives to the store, comes out 10 minutes later and car some times either won't start, ie. turns over but won't catch, or he has to feather the throttle just right to keep it running.
If the PCM is replaced the immobilizer won't work and the car won't run.
With respect to the immobilier, does this mean a reprogramming is required back at the dealership?

ECM, ECU, PCM, and more TLA's (I'm sure there are even more names, for the car's computer)...
This problem, sound like a dealer repair, only...
