Hi all,
I bought a new 2004 (yes, a 2004!) LX V6 coupe a couple months ago. I got a really good deal... $18.8K +TTL and $2K to $3K more on my trade-in than book. I previously had a 2002 Civic Si, but I had serious troubles with vandals and thieves here in NJ, so I thought it would be a good idea to get a car with a lower profile. I know the Accord is still a bit of a target, but my insurance did go down $100 a year with the new car, something I've never experienced.
About the car... So far so good. It's got a few tiny creaks and rattles, but nothing major, so hopefully I can those fixed on my first service visit. One thing I'm not sure about is the vibration I feel in the steering wheel and accelerator, even on table-top smooth roads. Could be the balancing, but I don't expect that on a new car (though the dealer I bought from isn't so great in the service department).
Anyway, it's a joy to drive. This is my first experience owning a car above the compact class, so I was a little concerned about its being sporty enugh. But it handles nearly as well as the Si, while being much smoother and easier to drive in urban areas. The most amazing thing so far: 33 mpg on the highway. I didn't believe my math at first, but I did the calculation from top-off to top-off. And I'm easily cruising over 500 miles at 70-78 mph on a tank before the light comes on.
I've got about 3400 miles on it, after a road trip to Memphis, and so far I'm one pleased Accord owner. :)
