anyone know if you can put a full size tire in the donut area in the trunk

can you put a full size spare in the donut hole on a 98?

Should be able to. I think thats where you would put the flat anyway.....

A full size tire is basically the same diameter as the donut, so it will fit into the floor recess, but the trunk floor cover will not lay flat since the full size tire is much wider (3-4 inches?).

Compact spars are usually more skinny than full size tires.

I have a full size in there. I would rather my trunk cover not stay flat then drive 55 miles an hour with a donut. (I drive 120-150 miles each day. It would be miderable.)

After having a donut on a sunday night 6 hours away from home (and civilization you could say), I will never use a donut again. That 6 hour drive took 8 because of the speed limit for the small tire.
