View Full Version : 20mm on 17x7.5 EX-L V6 Sedan Rims 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 05:02 PM Well, for those of you who were wondering what a 20mm spacer on a stock 17x7.5 V6 Sedan Rim looks like, here it is: 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 05:02 PM Installed on hub: 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 05:03 PM Stock 55mm Offset front: 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 05:04 PM 20mm spacer front: 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 05:05 PM Stock rear: 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 05:06 PM 20mm spacer rear: YRMed 03-01-2009, 05:20 PM Ok, ok. Ride quality? Any noticeable changes in handling qualities? arazaka1 03-01-2009, 05:28 PM So let me get this right, stock offset 55mm. + 20mm spacer = 35mm offset. Does that sound right? Would this be a similar look as in getting a 35mm offset wheel and puttin it on the car. Also as YRMed referred too, how is the ride quality? As a whole it looks great from the side shots that you took. boxster 03-01-2009, 06:31 PM holy crap batman, you have a huge garage 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 11:18 PM Ride quality is the same, except I noticed a slight vibration/shimmering in the steering wheel at 60+mph. No noticeable handling improvements, for me anyway. Ok, ok. Ride quality? Any noticeable changes in handling qualities? 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 11:20 PM Thanks. Yes. You're correct, but for a 7.5" width rim. See above response to YRMed. So let me get this right, stock offset 55mm. + 20mm spacer = 35mm offset. Does that sound right? Would this be a similar look as in getting a 35mm offset wheel and puttin it on the car. Also as YRMed referred too, how is the ride quality? As a whole it looks great from the side shots that you took. 808EX-LV6 03-01-2009, 11:25 PM :) . Yeah, need to accomodate 400+ units holy crap batman, you have a huge garage SiClone 03-04-2009, 07:24 PM And why did you do this???:dunno: Honda247 03-04-2009, 07:27 PM Where and how much were the spacers? 808EX-LV6 03-04-2009, 07:36 PM Well, I like the OEM look of the 17 x 7.5" on the Sedan, but I did not like the way it looked deeply seated within the wheel well. I wanted it to be more flushed with the arch of the wheel well. Maintains the stock look yet be discernible to the discerning enthusiast eyes. And why did you do this???:dunno: 808EX-LV6 03-04-2009, 07:37 PM OptionSelect on Ebay. It was $88/pair with free shipping. Where and how much were the spacers? Milan 03-04-2009, 10:41 PM I've always wanted to run the 06-07 V6 AT wheels with at least 15mm spacers but your reports of vibration/shimmy doesn't sound encouraging. 808EX-LV6 03-05-2009, 08:27 AM I would agree. With more seat time, I do notice a vibration at 60+mph, which stops after 70mph. I retorqued everything again last night. The lug nuts were slightly loose after driving around for a few days. Will see if this stops the vibration this AM. I've always wanted to run the 06-07 V6 AT wheels with at least 15mm spacers but your reports of vibration/shimmy doesn't sound encouraging. 808EX-LV6 03-05-2009, 09:32 AM Well, I'm happy to report that after I retorqued everything to specs, there's no more vibration/shimmering after 60+mph . I guess it helps to read the manual rather than assume the correct torque specs  BoSSy 03-05-2009, 01:34 PM I'd be worried about the loosening of the lugnuts. Someone posted something abt having infinity wheels on his accord and the lugnuts failed him. 808EX-LV6 03-05-2009, 05:04 PM Well, it was my fault for not torqueing the lugnuts to the correct specs. I think it should be ok now. I will be checking after a few days of driving to see. I'd be worried about the loosening of the lugnuts. Someone posted something abt having infinity wheels on his accord and the lugnuts failed him. starbai 07-16-2009, 11:20 AM do you have any further away pics? do you think you'd rub if you lowered? Takumi 07-19-2009, 12:20 PM Still going good with the spacer? 808EX-LV6 07-31-2009, 01:56 AM With a 20mm spacer, effectively putting the offset @ 35mm, it depends on how low you're planning to lower the car. I think a 2" drop will still clear the fender w/o rubbing. do you have any further away pics? do you think you'd rub if you lowered? 808EX-LV6 07-31-2009, 02:01 AM I decided to remove the front spacers and kept the back spacers for now. Looking to put on 15 or 10mm instead. I found that even though there were no vibrations at speed, the car tends to lean and understeer a bit more than stock. It also is more sensitive to the grooves of the road; ie: tends to track the grooves of the road more. I found all these shortcomings gone once I remove the 20mm front spacers. Other than that, the spacers held up and performed as advertised. These are actually good quality spacers. Still going good with the spacer? starbai 07-31-2009, 09:26 AM Anyone know anyone that makes 30 or 35mm spacers? I find that the ichiba 25mm spacers i have in the rear of my coupe isn't as agressive as i'd like and anyone looking at this thread wants some info for the coupe, here is mine with 15mm front and 25mm rear... i really think that the 15mm for the front of the coupe is perfect... remember this is with the v6's 18x8 +55 wheels. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h10/starbai1985/ACCORDAFTERSPACERS1.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h10/starbai1985/ACCORDAFTERSPACERS2.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h10/starbai1985/ACCORDAFTERSPACERS3.jpg KUNAL 07-31-2009, 01:51 PM I just got 17x8 wheels sit perfectly for my taste on a sedan though  tono 01-25-2010, 01:41 PM Is there any rubbing with the fenders for 20 mm front 25mm rear ? speedlogic56 01-27-2010, 05:42 PM it sucks that u feel a vibration at high speeds. tono 02-17-2010, 07:50 PM Is there another one tried them ? chaqui74 02-18-2010, 03:20 AM we need overall pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tono 02-26-2010, 03:55 AM Pic ? |
