Garage Lighting. My camera has a hard time picking up the actual color of the car outside with the sun but it does a better job in the garage with the lighting.

Aviography 03-03-2009, 04:55 PM Man I've always liked those wheels!
1-VT3C 03-03-2009, 04:57 PM looks good! changed the center caps to H. +1
RICANRAY 03-03-2009, 04:59 PM need to slam that hummer!!!!
Accordlover 03-03-2009, 05:00 PM Please don't slam it. :paranoid:
JMO. A little lower would be fine.. but slam... an accord... ugh is all I think.
Tint it! :)
rafael73 03-03-2009, 05:17 PM Mine has CL-S rims...
eemichael83 03-03-2009, 05:28 PM Thanks guys... I think that the next step will probably be the OEM style front lip. I've gone back and forth about lowering it, if I do, it'll probably only be ~1.5" drop with the Pro Kit. I'd really rather not have to replace the stock shocks and after the rear camber and install it's going to be a bit more than I really want to pay just for an inch and a half. Normally I'd do these installs by myself but compressing the springs for installation and removal worries me lol. I've also thought about maybe a lighter tint but we'll see :D I've gotta finish with the stereo first :D
dtraill27 03-03-2009, 05:33 PM nice work. great rims while keeping a clean profile:thmsup:. i think a 20% or 35% tint all around would look great
rafael73 03-03-2009, 05:39 PM That will be the next step.
sjlee 03-03-2009, 09:14 PM Mine has CL-S rims...
I thought that the 7th gen V6 MTs came with those rims stock. :dunno:

Honda repeated those rims. I thought that too. They are essentially the same
lebomb 03-04-2009, 01:12 PM Nice wheels and tires (i have them).............but, your tires are screaming "I need dressing, I need dressing.......please"

Those are actually 02-03 TL-S rims CL arent as blocked off.
PanzerLeader 03-04-2009, 05:20 PM Interesting post. I wanted to go with the 235-45R-17 tire that is on the Acura TLS. I was told by Tire Rack that these tires should not be used on my OEM 17" Honda Rims and that I should go with 225-50-17 tires. What size tire did you put on your Acura rims that are shown in the pictures? Will the 235-45R -17 tires fit on them?

They are 235/45R17 and they fit very nicely. I'm not sure what size the 17" OEM honda wheels are but the TL wheels are 17x8.
PanzerLeader 03-04-2009, 07:12 PM Thanks for info. Did you bu the rims from dealership or from other source? what was the estimated price?
eemichael83 03-04-2009, 07:19 PM I searched some of the acura forums for some good used wheels. I ended up getting mine from someone that posted on Acurazine TL Blackmarket. If you're looking at some used ones, just ask for detailed pics. The ones I ended up with look like brand new. Only one of the wheels had maybe a half inch of very light curb out the lip... other than that they are pretty flawless. They also came with brand new tires (the Kumho AST's) on them already mounted and balanced. I paid 650 Shipped. All I had to do when I got them was bolt them on :)
Aviography 03-05-2009, 06:31 PM That's a steal of a price, I think I saw those advertized too, but you got yourself a great deal!
PanzerLeader 03-06-2009, 10:41 AM How do you find the ride with the 235/45R17? From what I can figure out the side wall helps and you have almost an extra 1" width on the tread. Did you note steering/handling improvements? Dry and/or wet traction changes? Also based on past comments of the Pope and Aviography (Which I agree with.) 18" wheels may not be in many cases, the way to go.

For these comments, keep in mind that I was coming from the stock steel 15" wheels, I can't remember the tire size but I can look when I get home if you'd like for reference. I was actually surprised at how quiet these tires are. I was expecting a little bit noisier and maybe a little bumpier ride but the ride is actually really smooth and not bumpy at all. As far as comfort, I'd say it is just as good as the OEM 15's that were on there. This may vary depending on whatever tires you go with.
There was also a very considerable improvement in the steering and handling, which, I was expecting a little improvement going from a 6.5" wide wheel to an 8" wide wheel but I didnt think that it would be such an improvement that I would immediately notice it... but I noticed the improvement the first time i turned the wheel. Its just more responsive and just feels more connected with the road (because in reality it is). I havn't really gotten to try out how well it handles wet pavement yet because I've only had them on for about a week. It is supposed to rain here within the next couple of days though so I can test that out then. This will really depend more I think on the tread pattern though. I will also agree that 18's might be a bit too much wheel and not enough tire if you are looking to maintain comfort. I was originally thinking about 18's but now that the 17's are on, I think they are a good combo of appearance and comfort. What wheels are you thinking about getting?
Here's the tread pattern of what I'm on:

They're only 82.00 at tirerack for that size.
lebomb 03-06-2009, 11:24 AM I went from 16" stock sized wheels to 18" and they are just as smooth and I dont even notice a difference in comfort. We already know the 17" are good, just wanted you to know that 18" ride well also. My tires are $139 a piece though.
PanzerLeader 03-06-2009, 02:19 PM Thanks for the info. If I am not mistaken the way eemicheal 83 has it set up it actually has a wider width than some of the tires available for the 18" HFP.
PanzerLeader 03-06-2009, 04:05 PM eemicheal83, another quick question, did you notice if the steering effort was increased. Meaning it took a little more effort to turn the wheels especially at higher speeds. Also, did the stability of the cat increase with regard to cross winds or buffeting by 18 wheelers?

I've just been driving around city (nothing really over 55 and no big-rigs) but at the lower speeds I didnt really notice the need for more effort to steer, power steering seems to make any extra effort unnoticeable.
PanzerLeader 03-06-2009, 08:04 PM Thanks again. When you get it up to highway speeds let me know what you think . Would appreciate the update.
eemichael83 03-10-2009, 10:32 AM Side note: I think with these wider tires that I might look into getting the splash guards. The wider wheel coming flush with the wheel well makes it easier for dirt and debris to get thrown at the body. I noticed the body behind the wheels getting dirtier than normal. The splash guards are only like $63 from Majestic Honda. I'll probably wait and get them and the front lip at the same time.
