WTB: Stock 7th Gen headlights03Accord EX-L 03-03-2009, 11:52 PM Looking for some stock headlights for a 03-05 Coupe. Shoot me some offers. warmongering 03-04-2009, 06:48 PM doing a retro ^^? 03Accord EX-L 03-04-2009, 08:02 PM looking into getting all the parts....I never said they were bad just that they werent for everyone lol ...got any advice? htekken 03-04-2009, 09:58 PM pay someone to do it? 03Accord EX-L 03-04-2009, 10:10 PM lol I was going to do it on my own because I love doing visual stuff but no one will just mount the projector for me. I dont want to screw up a crucial part like lining up the projectors. htekken 03-04-2009, 10:39 PM haha yea this mod is all about alignment. trust me im a DIY'er myself but i just wasnt ready to dip my hands into this one. my 2 friends(noobs to retros) are workin on a retro right now for their lude, first time they powered it up on the car it was wayyyyy off. they still trying to fix that problem now. luckily i found a reputable retrofitter local to me so i went to him and he did an excellent job. good luck tho dude. warmongering 03-05-2009, 11:32 AM since you are a beginner probably go tsx or fx35 projectors because they have easier mounting points and fit relatively well into our headlights (i can show you some of the reflectors i ruined doing s2k retroes hahah) im sure you have an aftermarket kit, i would recommend getting some d2s to amp connectors from ebay for ~20 or so dollars SHIPPED ie: retrofitsource just do a best offer :P or trick todd you will need new bulbs such as philips d2s bulbs try to get a new set of regular 85122 i dont like pluses they seem to lose more lumens quickly (ever wonder why they have "200" extra at the start hahah?) for shrouds check out retrofit source again your harness from todd/xenondept/whoever will work again! for types of bolts/ screws stick with 8-32 machine screws with phillips type head, nylon spacers, etc. check out www.hidplanet.com/forums and i think many are here too? most just send it off :( for many walkthroughs 03Accord EX-L 03-05-2009, 12:27 PM Yeah I was goping to go with TSX. It was between those and LS430 which are BA but they are $$$$. Im prolly going to get a kit with tsx projectors, Lexus denso slim ballasts, harness, and phillip plusses (I dont really like the plusses either but they are in the package) for 300 shipped warmongering 03-08-2009, 11:04 PM Yeah I was goping to go with TSX. It was between those and LS430 which are BA but they are $$$$. Im prolly going to get a kit with tsx projectors, Lexus denso slim ballasts, harness, and phillip plusses (I dont really like the plusses either but they are in the package) for 300 shipped ls430s dont fit into our headlight at all i know :P i would suggest hella 3s or a potted ballast densos are prone to water damage 03Accord EX-L 03-08-2009, 11:47 PM Ive been told by Mike at HID illusionz that Matushita ballasts are prolly the best for output. Im rethinking the retrofit because Im getting married and dropping 700 or so on some headlights is seeming to be a bit much. Do you know how hard it is to swap the projectors in the aftermarket projector housings. warmongering 03-12-2009, 07:34 AM its not really hard but the result looks kinda cheap you will have to butcher their projector so you can silicone their bracket to your projector this is what I did junkyard: 150 dollars for s2ks projectors 56 dollars 2 hella gen3 ballasts ebay: best offer for imperfect shrouds from Matt @ retrofitsource for 30 2 brandnew philips d2s bulbs for 25 other: harness I made for like 8 bucks homedepot: 14 dollars in screws and mounting crap I did mine for around 300 the headlights were some cheapo ebay oem replicas for 80? so 400 htekken 03-12-2009, 08:53 AM $150 for s2k's???? niiiiiice grab. warmongering 03-14-2009, 04:40 PM hey i can get you fx35s and d2s adapters for cheap if you want (i can throw in ballasts too for 35 more) 135ish (170 ish) then you just need bulbs i can hook you up to 25 a pop NIB d2s philips burners from my source Jumpingbean 03-19-2009, 02:07 PM $25 for NEW! philips OEM bulbs? Where are you guys getting these bulbs for this cheap? warmongering any chance you could hook me up? frostnyc 03-22-2009, 08:06 PM I have a set of OEM's from an 05 Coupe I need to get rid of if you're still looking. | |
