Have a 05 Accord LX I4, want to replace exhaust. I know I cant get that deep flowmaster sound, but if anyone can give me advice on which exact system, Greedy, etc. would give me a deeper sound and not a Kawasaki sound. Please let me know on which one to get to replace. I want that nice so-called hum. Thanks |2

It'd be cool if someone made an oem looking dual exhaust for the 4-banger so folks won't know I'm such a cheapo. I've looked around a little, but no dice. I know there are a lot of aftermarket fart-can mufflers out there for the 4 cyl.

May seem like an odd idea, but I believe the V6 dual exhause isn't 'true dual' either.... haven't peaked under one to confirm or not though.

You can make a custom system, just go to a muffler shop. Go find a stock exhaust from an AV6 or just use one more muffler from another Accord I4, then have them weld the whole shebang together onto the car. Lots of people did it on Honduh for the 6th gens, don't see why not the 7th. There is a slight loss of power but nothing's perfect :)

Comptech is strictly v6. just a nice purr and not something I can hear down the interstate while using the restroom at a rest area. =] where you think the best place for another muffler exhaust to make it dual? and also if I just add another to make it dual, will there be a sound to it? hmmm

V6's aren't true duals, they split near the back, which is why it wouldn't be hard to do on an I4 either.

Split the pipe for the second exhaust whereever there is space. You might not have much of a choice, I think the spare tire well blocks most of the space towards the back so you can't run a pipe there. Probably be a good idea to go look at an AV6 and see where theirs is split, I'm guessing somewhere near under the back seat.

its really not a good idea to add a second muffler. you will be losing alot of back pressure which means your car will lose low-end torque and power.

the best thing to do would be to find a good performance muffler and maybe also replace your stock piping with something a little bigger but not too much bigger. maybe 1/4" more in diameter from the cat back.

i dont know who makes the best sounding mufflers but most performance muffler companies make one that will fit your car. mufflers aren't built for specific makes and models like other parts are.

Oh I understand, I am really not looking for duals, just a specific brand that someone owns or has heard that sounds good and not if you want to call cheesy. Something prob with a 2 or 3 inch tip that has a vroom sound. Thanks :paranoid:

Yes, a second muffler does reduce the back pressure and power, always good to reiterate that.

I know a person running an F23A1 turbo with a Magnaflow muffler who is happy with it, says he gets a pretty deep sound. And it's probably not very expensive either, and hasn't deteriorated too much even through years of use on salted roads.
