View Full Version : will it fit without problems ??
Hi
I want to install rims with size of 255/30/20 Front and 305/25/20 Rear
Will they fit without problems
like friction when you steer to end right or left??
or do I have to something before to get them fit perfectly ??
sorry for my English little poor !
lebomb 03-07-2009, 10:35 AM oden, I think you arent getting any answers because you are asking about a very oversized tire for the accord, and noone has probably installed wheels and tires this large. Ive seen 20's, but not 255s up front and 305s in the rear. That is extreme. You will probably need a HUGE offset, and still Im not convinced they wont rub.

OK
I want to buy Forgiato Concavo rims what size do you suggest ??
if 19" what size?
if 20" what size?
and by the way do you know any website that sells used rims?
because a new set of Forgiato Concavo is very expensive !!
thanks in advance brother
and what do you mean by offset?
lebomb 03-07-2009, 02:25 PM and what do you mean by offset?
The offset is the amount of distance you push the wheel away from the hub, so it wont rub. With 305's in the rear and 255's up front, you will need a big offset. :dunno:
Thanx alot bro I appreciate you cooperation
can you answer the other questions? pls
OK

Accordance22 03-07-2009, 03:05 PM You won't have to worry about rubbing because these tires will not even fit. You will need to roll your fenders and do all sorts of modifications to get them to fit.
Why on earth do you need such large tires? 255 on the front and then 305 on the rear?!? Are you dragging your accord.....????
For your wheels, imo, stick with 19". And as mentioned, you'll need a really high offset if you decide to stick with those tire sizes. Speak to a rep from the company you'll be buying the tires from.
Also, why are you getting larger tires on the rear? The accord is FWD.... None of this makes sense.
Hi Accordance22
First it is the first time for me to install none stock rims that what got me confused
second about the size that's one of my friends Idea cuz as I said I am a first timers to this !!
can you pls help me ??
I want new rims 19" or 18" but I don't want to
You will need to roll your fenders and do all sorts of modifications to get them to fit.
I just want to " plug and play "
what size you suggest ?
Do you know rims that comes with lip like forgiato but much cheaper of course !!
thanks in advance
PanzerLeader 03-08-2009, 06:05 PM Go with the Honda HFP 18" rims. Depending on where you are, and the road surface conditions, that is about the largest I would go. In fact, I am looking at the Acura TLS 17" rims which will allow me to go with 235/45R17. This will get me about 1" wider width tire on the car. Also the speedometer error is very small with this tire size.
is this the Honda HFP you are talking about ?? cuz I don't know What is "HFP" !

BTW do know any rims with lips and quit cheap 1000-2000 USD $$ !!
Accordance22 03-09-2009, 12:24 AM Go to http://www.tirerack.com/ and select your car from the dropdown lists.
I don't know what trim or year your Accord is so it's difficult to provide information.
From the OEM size, you can almost always increase your rim size by an inch, and increase your tread width by 10mm without problems. Make sure the tire's sidewall height stays roughly about the same.
e.g.
225-45-17
225 is the width of the tire in millimeters (mm).
45 is the sidewall's height as a percentage of the tread width. So, in this case, the sidewall height is 101.25 mm.
17 is the wheel size in inches the tire fits.
If you were to buy a tire that is 235-40-17, the sidewall height is 94mm. That's close to the OEM height of 101.25 mm, so no worries here.
Buying wheels and tires is not something you want to rush in. It's a big and important purchase. Buying the wrong size or wrong type can cause you grief. Research as much as you can before you buy.
Also, stop asking your friend for advice. He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. The truth is, you would look like a complete fool having wider tires in the rear of a FWD car. The cars you see that have wider tires in the rear are RWD cars. It provides better launch among other things.
lebomb 03-09-2009, 05:41 AM Yep, go to tirerack or discounttire on line........put the size tires in that you want and the site will tell you if they will fit. The largest I would go are 235 or 245 19's all the way around. I wouldnt do two different sizes.
PanzerLeader 03-09-2009, 01:37 PM Yes, HFP stands for Honda Factory Performance. Where I live the roads can be very bad. I want a wider tire but really do not want a real low sidewall. The rims would take a terrible beating. BTW I want the car in the picture. Like the helicopter also, you send me those I will buy you the rims.
rafael73 03-09-2009, 03:09 PM Go either 17 or 18. I prefer 17 because of tire prices. If that is not a factor, HFP 18" wil do it

another Question I want to paint the lip by black color
to make it look like this
http://www.forgiato.com/gallery/images/cls_concavo.jpg
the question is can I remove the color after while and back normal color ???
vtxcraziexboi 03-09-2009, 05:08 PM right now i have 8.5inch width rims on the front and 9 inch rims on the back...only 18s tho.
lebomb 03-11-2009, 05:39 AM Im not sure if those rims will work on an Accord or not, you may have to call or hit up one of the sites I mentioned. Also, dont paint the lip...........why not buy rims with the lip already blacked out? Trust me, it will last longer and the paint wont flake off. Also, those parts are needed in order to install the rims. Accords come with a stock rim for the car..........you will need an "O" ring .....which is what they call it, to make the larger wheel fit on the car.
