Could you tell me how to replace the left headlight assembly? I'm trying to determine how it is mounted, but can't figure it out.
214k and things are just starting to need attention. hard shift between 1st and second on the auto trany and I need to clean out the EGR port in the intake manifold so I can pass emissions.
Want to do the easier task first.
Can't complain on the reliabilty of this car.

Remove the front bumper to access the bolts that hold the headlight to the radiator support.
It's a ton of clips and a few bolts and screws. You're gonna want to get a bunch of those clips to have on hand, many of them just disintegrate when trying to get them out.

How often has the atf been changed? In some cases just changing(3 drain/fills no flushes) the atf will make the shift from 1st to 2nd better.

Thanks for the reply--
I'll stock up on the clips when I go get the throttle body gasket for the intake manifold removal.
I am embarassed to say, I was religious on 3k oil/filter changes, but I never changed the tranny fluid since they replaced it when it had 105k on it. I changed it at 210k and added Lucas to it. Reading on the forum shows I should have changed it out 2 more times in order to have gotten all of the fluid changed.
I will buy 9 qts at the dealer and do it. Might be too late, but it still is cheaper than a rebuilt tranny which is probably worth more than the car.

Volez:
FredSVT is dead on; you'll need to remove the front bumper cover to replace the head light assembly. And the (plastic) clips are garbage, prone to disintergrate, upon removal.
You MAY care to shop around your local parts houses and collision shops for a superior alternative. Unless, of course, you are a "purist," interested in strict originality. All you need to do is match the inside (hole) diameter....for the bumper cover clips.
Neat tip: When I (soon) replace the fender liners on my '02, I will use the fender liner clips used on my '86 Accord. They last far longer, and are incredibly cheaper. If so interested, the Honda P/N is: 90675-SB0-003. They will cost you about 15 cents, each. The OEM clips will cost you about $2.16 apiece.
EGR port clogging issue on the J-series V6 typically requires a "clean out," then a slight enlargement with a drill bit. And you MAY need to replace the EGR valve itself. Discuss this with a Tech at your local Honda dealer...before you pick up your wrenches.
I am thoroughly convinced that frequent fluid changes on (especially) the "B7XA" auto tranny, used in the V6 cars, is an imperative. Three/four quarts of ATF is a Helluva lot cheaper than a replacement tranny. And as FredSVT will likely say, Red Line D4 is probably far superior to Honda's Z-1 ATF.

You may want to consider spacing out the 3 drain/fills a week apart assuming you drive the car everyday for at least 20 miles. Instead of doing the 3 d/f's back to back after only driving it a few miles betwn d/f's.
