View Full Version : I Wanna Front Spoiler!
wardenr 03-12-2009, 03:27 PM To All:
I have been searching for an OEM front spoiler for my '86 Accord the past 15 years. Lower Skirt - Honda OEM# 08126-SE300 (and 214738).
Long ago, when it was still shown as "available" in the Accessories catalog, I ordered it several times from my local, Honda dealer, to no avail.
My "Wanted" ads on Ebay and other venues have produced NO results.
I KNOW someone on this planet has one. And all I am looking for is ONE. Just that it's "not for sale," else they don't know I am looking for it! See below...
LXSPimp 03-12-2009, 03:35 PM did u try junk yards?
wardenr 03-12-2009, 04:00 PM LXSPimp:
I have called salvage yards as far away as Oregon state. "Yeah, we've seen 'em before. And I've got one...except it's BUSTED in like, five (5) pieces" is the typical response.
I'm thinking (and hoping) that someone in Japan or Europe has one.
For now, all I can do is keep LQQKING!

Osiris_x11 03-12-2009, 04:08 PM Worth a shot to contact these guys, if they don't have it, they can perhaps steer you towards one elsewhere:
www.harecycling.com (their web-site is down @ the mo', someone forgot to pay the bills... :D)

Also, there are (gasp) *other* Honda forums/sites (ie. www.honda-tech.com, www.vtec.net, www.hondaaccordforum.com, etc'). Take a gander at a few if/when you have the time. That's how I ended up here, vis-a-way from elsewhere!
G'luck!
accordexlv6 03-12-2009, 09:17 PM Brings back a long forgotten memory...
I bought a new Civic LX Sedan back in 1988 (below) and a few months later I saw a Civic Si Hatchback with one of those little front lip spoilers on it. This was waaaaay before the net, so I went to a brand new place called H&A Motorsports (only Honda accessories and service) in Horsham PA. The owner looked at my sedan and said there were holes underneath for the clips and screws. Supposedly, the sedans had the lip in Japan, but in a cost cutting effort, it was only on the Si in the US.
Needless to say, I bought the part(s) and although a subtle upgrade, it helped make my little Civic (that I realllllllly loved and still have very fond memories of) just a little more special.
Unfortunately for you, it will continue to be like finding a needle in a haystack all these years later.
I can't even buy a Nissan OEM hood deflector/shield for our 2003 Pathy because the inventory is long gone (our first one got busted a few years ago by road debris flying up, so now we have an aftermarket piece... looks the same, just flimsier).
On our Pathy we also have a rear window spoiler/wind deflector (a rare upgrade) and on Nissan sites, people are looking for them all the time and those that do have them, have had 'em ripped off:thumbsdow. I guess that's what happens when the model you have is long forgotten by the manufacturer.
Good Luck with the search.

You can plug in the Honda P/N 08126-SE300 on many sites that (incredibly) still show it available. Trust me, it's NOT! HMC and everyone else needs to STRIP IT OUT from their parts databases. It is LONG GONE!
I will have to COINCIDENTALLY encounter a company with an NOS unit, collecting dust on their shelf. Else find a private party who is willing to sell me theirs.
Probably BEST I stop wishing for things I cannot ever have!

wardenr 03-13-2009, 11:40 AM Accordexlv6:
I have LONG been a fan of the Civic "S," which was introduced in 1983. Red over black, else black over black. With it's 1.5 L motor and 5-speed tranny, bone stock, it will WASTE a similar BMW (2 or 3 series) of that era.
Back in 1993, whilst shopping for another Honda, I was...and still remain....fanatical about the Accord LX-i Hatchback I still own, some 16 years later. I hardly need point out that HMC (sadly) discontinued the Accord Hatchback in (model year) 1990. And that the 3rd Gen Accord is the ONLY generation featuring "hide-away" headlamps. After seeing a 1963 Corvette "Sting Ray" on the old TV show "Route 66," I was OBSESSED!
That SAID...
I came within an eyelash of buying a 1991 CRX "Si." After driving one, I found it a "Pocket Rocket." And I personally define it as one of Honda's most desirable and collectible "Classics."

morcheez 03-13-2009, 10:59 PM i feel your pain..i had an 89 legend coupe about 10 years ago and wanted the rear lip spoiler that was made for it...no one around had the dang thing ....and everyone who had it"available" really didnt...i actually found one at a used car lot on a car but it was all cracked up and looked like butt....i still tried to buy it from them but they wouldnt let it go :thumbsdow...hope your search comes out better
Accordlover 03-14-2009, 05:13 AM www.3geez.com and ebaymotors are two great places for these things.
Let me know if you need the Honda shop manual (covers everything, honda makes it). I have one for the 1986 Accord which I need to get rid of since I sold mine.
wardenr 03-15-2009, 10:12 AM Accordlover:
Thanks for your offer, but at least I was wise enough to purchase an entire set of books (from Helm) for my '86 Accord...shortly after I bought it (July 22nd, 1993).
I have long had advertisements running on both 3geez forum and Ebay Motors....for the lip spoiler....I know I will never find. <SIGHS>
The photo I include above was made courtesy of a 3rd Gen owner...who is looking for the same thing. He happened to encounter someone...who (naturally) would not sell it.

GTFan712 10-27-2009, 09:49 PM Sorry for the thread revival, but I'm curious.
Did you ever find that Front Spoiler?
