As the title says, where did you guys mount your amps? I have mine mounted on the back seat with self-tapping screws. I have a problem where the amp loses power for a few seconds at a time. I'm trying to troubleshoot it and one possibility is that it could be caused by the amp being screwed into metal.
Could screwing the amp onto a metal surface of the car (not directly, but the self-tapping screws are making contact with metal) cause problems?

I have mine in the same spot and no troubles here. If for some reason you notice that when you dismount it then I would guess there is something loose.
Make sure that all of your connections at the amp and at the power source and connection points are secured. Heck just disconnect them all and reconnect, never hurts to double check.

I'm almost positive that mounting the amp there shouldn't cause a problem because the amp's chassis is grounded anyway ... but I just want to doublecheck.
I checked all the wires coming into and out of the distro block and going to the amp and powered sub .. everything is solid. I don't have time to play with it until Sunday since I'm going to Baltimore tomorrow .... 3.5hr drive with no music :bawl:

You may have the gain turned up too high, which could be causing the amp to temporarily to into standby.

I normally screw mine to the back of the sub unless I'm doing a custom install
As far as your amp going out, check the heat sink position, if you've got it so it holds heat...thermal shut down!

Actually my friend figured out why it was cutting out. It turns out I had the signal sense switch on the Cleansweep turned on. Apparently that was the culprit. I have no clue why that would cut in and out but it works now ;)

screw your amplifier to the back of the sub (on the magnet?:paranoid:)
that might not be the best spot for it ;)
