i really like how the wheels look on your coupe wardenr.

my passenger seat isnt power though. its frequently used for my friends getting in the back seat my only complaint is when you pull it forward it wont go back into the position it was in previously. i like the leather, hot in the summer though and requires a lot of conditioning. i also love the sunroof and dont think i could go without one in my next car. finally i wish i could have gotten the spoiler but price wasnt worth it i have been looking into an oem replica though. i would like the oem fogs though but dont think i would be able to install them myself and dont want to pay to have them installed

I am "old-school," "old-fashioned," and just plain OLD now!

The rims on my '02 are from a local salvage yard. They were "standard-equipment" on many of the 2003-2005 FOUR-cylinder "LX," "EX," and other Accord models. I paid $75.00 for the entire set. From HMC, they retail for about $200, each. (Shall I COMPLAIN about the price that I paid? Laughing, OUT LOUD!)

IMO, leather is VERY uncomfortable, especially in the Summer and Winter. Fry your legs off, if you're wearing shorts, else you're FREEZING yourself to death. Leather is "high-maintenance," requiring almost constant care (Cleaning, saddle soap, etcetera...). And in the case you need a repair? You'd better have a FAT checkbook!

A rear "wing" spoiler is available from not only HMC, but many aftermarket vendors. From Honda (and many other suppliers), it requires installation of an additional wiring harness (to activate the center brake light), and changing out the trunk springs (due to the added weight of the spoiler). Once you DRILL those five (5) holes in your trunk lid...there is NO TURNING BACK. I really DON'T wanna go there!

While the (theoretical) additional "down force" of a rear "wing" spoiler MIGHT enhance handling, "at speed," it will likely ALSO cost you a PENALTY, in the way of fuel economy. Since I don't own a "wind tunnel," for testing purposes, I honestly can't say.

Then again, perhaps YOU are NOT interested in any (potential) "functional" benefits of a rear "wing" spoiler? Perhaps YOU are moreso interested in the "aesthetic" value it may add to your car? As in the way of, for lack of a better term, "sex appeal?" These questions, these concerns, they can be addressed ONLY by YOU, Sir!

The (front bumper cover) fog lamp kit is rather EXPENSIVE. Said kit, from H & A Accessories, will run you about $227.95 (plus freight). From Honda, about $310.00. With five (5) electrical harnesses and all the other necessary (included) hardware, you'll need a "Double-E" degree to install it. For MYSELF? NO THANKS!

[I would submit that it will NOT add any value to your car. NOR will a fog lamp kit enhance night-time driving vision. A set of HID headlamps would (far) serve you better! Furthermore, when something flies up, off the road, breaking one of the lamp units, it will cost you about a Hundred Dollar Bill to replace it!]

i would like to do the spoiler and fog light kit to enhance the appearance of my car as well as a front lip. these are all of course wants and not needs so i probably wont be pursuing any of the options. i am more interested in finding an older body style tsx rather than putting any money into my accord as i am getting into the high mileage range on my original transmission. and if it does not fail im looking for a new car once i get out of school

Thanks for the compliments guys! The car did need tint very bad and the second to last picture is with the tint installed. 35% all around. And yea, the deer hit me! :D I love looking at everyones 6th Gen Accords. There are some very nice ones here!

A rear "wing" is cool, but just NOT for me. Once you drill those holes in the decklid, there is NO turning back. Next, there is the matter of installing the center brake lamp wiring harness. (BTW, you will LOSE the center brake lamp in the back window, unless you splice them together.) Then, there is the matter of changing the trunk springs. For myself, too much time, labor, and money to (possibly) increase the "sex appeal" factor.

The added downforce of the rear wing, at speed, will likely impose a fuel economy penalty. I'm (overall) averaging about 25 mpg, and I certainly don't desire any worse. Gasoline prices will likely be back at/above $4.00/gal. before I even finish this post.

However, there are many aftermarket rear spoilers for Gen Six cars online. Some are available painted. And some do not require a trunk spring change. It's your car and your "call," Sir.

The fog lamp kit is rather expensive. It is also a CHORE to install, especially if you do it yourself. Involved: Removal of the front bumper cover, installation of three (3) wiring harnesses, removal of the lower-left side of the dash to install the control switch. If (for example) a rock flies up and breaks just ONE of those fog lamps, it will cost you about a ONE-HUNDRED DOLLAR bill to replace it. Thanks, but NO Thanks. I'd far rather install better bulbs in the new headlamp assemblies I recently purchased.

And last, but not least, fog lamps and a rear spoiler will likely NOT add material (monetary) value to the car. Kind of like adding a swimming pool to your back yard; while some might like it, others could not care less about it.

If you are determined to do as you say, I'd suggest you check with H & A Accessories to get better pricing.

To All:

I need to make a correction...and apologize...for my (apparent) IGNORANCE.

I've been thoroughly researching...to get the FACTS straight.

Below, you see the ORIGINAL wheel(s)...my car came equipped with. 15" X 6" standard steel rims, with (dog-a$$) UGLY, plastic wheel covers. Soon as I bought the car, they had to GO!

NEXT, you see the 16" X 6.5" alloy rims I replaced them with. They are used on certain 2003-2005 FOUR-cylinder Accords. Which do most prefer? That's a "no brainer." I have gotten a LOT of compliments on the alloys! While adding modest (monetary) value to the car, I think they improve the APPEARANCE of the car by at least $1,000! :thmsup: :)

Thanks for the compliment Warden! Yeah, that damage has been repaired and I do have venison in my freezer but not from that deer. He hit me at about 2AM (nothing good ever happens after midnight) and it was about -40 degrees so I didn't really feel like picking him up. I never hit a deer before and I was in awe of how high and how far the deer flew. Wow..

Okay, okay, okay, ALREADY! (Retreats to my corner, in sheer embarrassment!) :notworthy

The aftermarket bumper covers I purchased are CAPA certified, identical in appearance and fit. I must have spent two (2) hours inspecting and test fitting each cover. Being constantly dubious about (especially) aftermarket body parts, I can consider myself extremely lucky. Exactly as Cajun said, I know a lot who have been "burned" by a disappointment. That, I find, most regrettable. I wish it were otherwise, Sir. :dunno:

After you all SHAMED me, I cut a deal (yesterday) with one of my body-shop "Buds" to refinish BOTH bumper covers...in OEM "NH623M" for a mere $200.00 He will refinish them using their Sikkens paint system. He works for a Cadillac-Lexus (combo) dealership. And if said paint is good enough to go on a "Caddy" or a "Lex," I'm reasonably certain it's good enough to go on my Honda! :thmsup: :yes:

To All:

To those of you who have a Gen Six Accord with "EX" package, I tip my ballcap to you.

While I was shopping, I DID consider many 2002 "EX" V6 Coupes.

HOWEVER, and that said, I am NOT a fan of:

1) A (power) "hole in the roof." (Great opportunity for the body to rust out, when the seals eventually fail. And an excellent "entry point" for THIEVES!)
2) Animal hide (leather) covering the interior. (Leather IS high-maintenance, uncomfortable, and very expensive to repair!)
3) An "automatic" climate-control system. (I am SIMPLE. Manual HVAC works fine for me!)
4) A passenger's-side power seat. (Seldom does anyone else ride in my car!)
5) Optional rear "wing" spoiler and front fog lamps. Just two (2) more items I don't care to spend money on. AND maintain/repair....as they eventually will require.

Being lighter, with a higher "power-to-weight" ratio, the "LX" V6 cars are SLIGHTLY quicker than the similar "EX" models. Do I CARE? Absolutely NOT. I bought this car based STRICTLY upon my own personal preferences, so stated above.

Given their popularity and SCARCITY, the "LX" V6 cars are extremely difficult to find, in decent shape, with reasonable mileage.

It took me over six (6) months to find my 2002. It cost me some $200.00, to have it shipped here, just for me to LOOK at it and (test) DRIVE it. The additional "sweetner" is that it is EXACTLY my preferred color scheme: Satin Silver Metallic over Charcoal.

I paid about $2,000 TOO MUCH, for this car. Does NOT matter. I GOT WHAT I WANT!

And I hope the rest of you did, as well!!! ENJOY THE RIDE!

I like the Satin Silver, which is what I have.

Do you mean EX V6 models or just EX models in the 98-02 range? My 2001 Sedan EX with I4 does not have fake wood grain, leather seats or digital climate control. I never liked leather due to its similarity to vinyl on a hot day wearing shorts.

I can say that to me the fog lights add something to my car, but then again it was the former owner or dealership that they bought it at that installed (and paid for it) it

But of course the main thing I was looking for when I bought my Accord was the manual transmission, had a DX or LX been around with that transmission, I would have bought that but as a person that likes owning a manual, an automatic was not an option (especially not the crap auto transmissions in the 6th gen)

At the time I bought the 2001, I could not afford to buy a 2008-2009 and the 2003-2007(Gen 7) to me looks terrible (although the 06-07 looked better with the new tail lights) I found this one at a local Ford dealer and it had low miles and stick so I bought it.

Again nice looking coupe

I was specifically referring to the 6th-Gen V-SIX cars. ONLY!

While the 6th-Gen cars certainly have their (unfair) share of issues with the ("BAXA," "MAXA," and "B7XA") auto trannies, I already own a five-speed Accord. See my icon and signature. :)

I love manual transmissions. I've been "stirring a stick," most of my life. However, with my declining health, I need something that shifts by itself! :thmsup: :yes:

At the risk of infuriating the (expectedly proud) Gen Seven owners, I find those Accords rather unattractive (read, UGLY). :thumbsdow :(

I personally find the HVAC and audio controls thoroughly confusing and outright GROTESQUE...especially with that FAT (power) button in the center of the dash! I do NOT like the "minimized" tachometer, with its "abbreviated" nacelle! I don't like the interior, in general!!! :eek: :puke:

Then again, I did NOT design the 7th-Generation Accord. And I should add that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!" :yes:

Some/many may consider my Gen-Six Coupe as UGLY as the proverbial mud fence! :yes: :lmao:

Is your drivers side headlight missing part of the orange reflector? Looks like maybe you were in an accident. Do your pink air fresheners stain your glove box at all?

I was in an accident, if you look very closely you can see that fender is replaced, and the headlights will be next, along with paint.

As far as the air fresheners, theyre "peachy peach" little trees and I havent had a problem. I also clean the inside regularly though..

I do indeed see that the fender is a bit darker.

I have the vanillaroma tree and it doesn't give me any problems either. I must have been thinking of the crappy, cheap leaf air fresheners that stain. :)

I have ordered numerous items from them the past eight (8) months, and I've found their service to be most excellent. And most of the time, you can't beat their prices! :thmsup: :yes:

The above SAID... Johaan, you may care to investigate what's available in your local-area salvage yards. In a swap, (OEM 15" steelies + plastic covers + crappy UniRoyal tires), I ended up with only $75 in a full set of 16" alloys I installed on my '02. Never know what deals you may find until you shop around! :yes:

My accord is virtually identical to G-Stone's. AND also has 97,000 miles. but its a 2000, and is decked in neon and has eyelids as well as 3A Racing muffler tips. I get 27-32mpg (probably18ish city).

I'll post pictures tomorrow :)

San Marino Red was the red for Accords and 97+ Preludes. It's a "richer" red than Milano Red.

Thanks, we've had the car for 7 years now and it has been a great car. It was originally my dad's but he gave it to me a little over a year ago when he bought his 06 Accord. San Marino Red has been around for a while. Like A&Fbro28 said the first Accord it was available on was the 97 Special Edition Coupe. I believe that makes it the only color that was available on the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th generation Accords. I think it was also available on the Prelude for a few years.

here is my 99 Accord EX V6, still work in progress, i do something to it every weekend( Fridays Saturdays and Sundays) the previous owner painted the car, and the body shop painted the grill white so i removed the bumper and painted the grill back to black on friday, also the same day installed a Bazooka Tube with Alpine Mono amp, the previous weekend me and my girl hand glazed the whole car twice and detailed the inside alittle

the car is sitting on Apex-i 1 piece full suspension kit, ( i'm raise it back to stock height for the winter, next month and when summer comes i'm drop it lower then what i have right now) 10k hid kit, clear headlights, with a SMT bulbs, 50/50 Tailights, M3 replica wing, Tints (jus got redone thursday) Infinitti Speakers playing directly from my Alpine Ipod ready radio, Kicker 10in sub in a Bazooka tube been powered from a Alpine 700w Mono amp, Prestige Auto Start alarm ( came with the car should be remove in a few weeks and be replace by AutoPage) 07 TSX 17in rims, Front Lip, i'm planning on converting my dash bulbs to LED, i just dont know if i should stay with White or convert everything to Red to match my radio and to be different from everyone else, oph i will also lightly tint the front windshield also when i do my new alarm

10k HID's are going to be kind of worthless regarding useable light. 8K is getting a bit high. Sure they make look cool, but you can't see much with them.
Other than that I like what you're working with. The TSX rims look great. I wish I had a 5 bolt. Many more wheels to choose from! I could do the conversion, but that's more time and monry that I want/need to spend.

the fogs were on the caar wen i got it... but one of em cracked from a rock and i picked those up from ebay for under 100... and wen i went to put them on teh fittings were a lil different so i just used the fittings tht were there and put the housings in

im actually good with the 10k, its actually suppose to be 20k but i had them on my Integra for almost 3 years i guess intime they lose some color and i compared them to my boy who has actuall 10k hids and it looks similar in color

as for the TSX rims im continue to roll with those for now, i hated the stock Honda OEM 5 lug rim, but i think next year i'm try the 09 Accord Coupe rims to see how they look on the car

Car looks GREAT with the drop, rims, tint etc. Very clean too. Try not to get caught in the trap of over modding the car. When you can save that money for future maintenance, repairs(transmission) or a future car even.

na i know about the tranny issues with these car, i had a 98 v6 accord last year and tranny was giving me problem, i took it to my boy shop and it was 2 sensors on the tranny that goes bad, i never really got the chance to fix it cuz someone offer me good money for it as is so i sold it, but this car has no problem with the motor or tranny ( i hope i didnt jinx myself lol) but i only need this car atleast till next year, i originally wanted a 06 TL, but me and my girl moving out so we rather spend the $ on things we need right now and then hopefully by the summer maybe i can have my TL, ill probably keep the accord as a daily driver, all i really want now is just the lip kit and thats it, i was even thinking of changing the exhaust tip, everything i done to the car till today was all minor, i did most of everything myself besides the tints and drop

tomorrow if the weather is nice i think i mite just paint my calipers black, if i do ill post before and after pics, sorry i never got the chance to take a before pic of the car, but there is a big difference from day 1 to what you see now

yea it failed inspection in NJ, they are really strict, it fail because of the Motor Mounts ( brand new OEM motor mounts was installed ) failed because of the HID, failed because 1 o2 sensor was bad ( brand new OEM sensor was install) failed because it had the lowering springs ( OEM Springs was installed back ), it failed because of the tints now thats crazy, check out the picture, see how light the tints were, i didnt remove it i left it as is, but anyways before i had the chance to go get it inspected again someone had offer to buy the car from me so i sold it as is

Yes. V6's came with 5 lug and 4 bangers came with 4 lug.

my car having like 10 times the amount of miles yours has, you should be able to get easily $8,000 out of it simply because of the low miles and excellent condition it's in.

The miles/condition of your car make it somewhat special, so I wouldn't think KBB (or dealer prices) would be of much use. You may have to put it on the market for a while before you get the right buyer, while fending off lowballers. I would try ebay to increase the chance of finding the buyer searching for a mint 6thGen.
