These pictures are much better than those on vtec.net.

I was thinking the same thing. Check out that front quarter window, I'm not sure if I like that.

looks like it could have XM as an option, if you look at the second picture of the coupe there appears to be the XM antenna, at least it looks similar to the XM antenna on my Accord.

On the second shot of the coupe, I see a Navi system on the dash.

Will have to see what the SI looks like. Could spell the end of a Accord coupe for me. I would be very happy with a tiny car and 200hp.

nav??? no way. not enough civic buyers would pay the premium for that option. honda knows this. won't happen. xm possible though. just glorified press pics at this point.

I think Honda will offer a Navi system on the EX/Si. In Europe, you can get Navi systems on most compact/mid-size vehicles. It's just a matter of time before it trickles down to the Civic/Corolla.

they might, but I wouldn't bet on it. europe gets stuff on all car makes that we don't get here... they aren't going to stray too far from that idea either...

Honda will be introducing the Jazz/Fit over here which will allow them to move the Civic upmarket with more premium features on the high-end (EX/Si). This may help Honda recover some lost sales from people who don't like the Accord's styling & want features like Navi/XM Radio (at least until the 8th-gen Accord).

we will see, I don't know anything for sure..... but honda knows where to keep their cars. and where to keep them in their class. accord with leather came out in what??? 1994???? nav didn't come until 2003???? civic has yet to get leather, etc...... honda is conservative enough that it isn't likely. just think about the past and actual present, aside from the "rumors" of new models.

Can you imagine the Civic getting leather and navi in the same year !

IIRC, the accord had leather before 94, and so did the civic (but i think you had to special order it on the civic).... someone confirm pls.... :)

that red/orange one is the Si. the 17" wheels and spoiler give it away. you can also see the tape covering up the "Si" emblem (or where the emblem should be) on the grille. i thought it would look more agressive though...

stevel,

found this on edmunds.com

n 1981 a full-blown luxury trim level, called the SE, was offered. Sending out the first- generation Accord in style, the SE stocked an Accord Sedan with leather seating, power windows and door locks, alloy wheels and a sound system with cassette deck. Though this may not seem like a big deal now, back in 1981 manual window cranks and vinyl seats were typical for small cars while leather seats were reserved for big American luxury cars or expensive European makes such as BMW.

the Odyssey had NAV before leather. NAV was available at introduction for Gen2 (1999). not sure when leather became available..i think after the MMC (2002)?

NAV has been confirmed by vtec.net. it will most likely be an option on the EX/Si. the Civic's toughest competitor right now, the Mazda 3, has a NAV option already.

sorry, no website/forum knows for sure. it might happen, but don't bet on something some forum sight says before it happens. be reaslistic. until honda says it, it's nothing but rumor.

civic has it's place and it's a good one and it does it well. if price goes up 3K or 4k for leather and nav... it won't sell enough to make money. and making money is all that counts for a car manufacturer.

True, but vtec.net is usually "on the money". I wonder how Toyota will respond to the new Civic with it's Corolla MMC.

if vtec.net says it (the admins, not the normal posters on the forum), then its practically as good as Honda saying it. vtec.net is probably the website/forum most closely related to Honda there is. in fact, Honda is giving them a Civic Si to "trick out" for the release at SEMA this fall, and they're not even a tuning company, just an enthusiast website/forum. you can all doubt all you want and wait for Honda's official word before believing, but the Civic WILL have XM and NAVI, just not sure what is standard/optional on what trims yet.

Yeah, Honda will be giving them a Si for their project in early August, so they do have a special relationship with Honda. It looks like the Civic will be getting leather and a navi system as premium options on the EX/Si. It also looks like the sound system on the Civic will be MP3 compatible (standard except on the DX). I'm not sure if the new Civic is getting LED taillamps like on the Accord MMC.

We're in the market for a new sedan and were waiting for the MY06 Accord with leather & navi. If the new Civic EX comes with those features, we may consider it instead. The only thing that would stop us is the fact that it's a first year model. :dunno:

I just showed the pics of the so called SI to the wife. If a SI is cheap enough it got her favor :) Now if it was rear wheel drive!!! spurt spurt!!! I would like sooo much to have a stable kept pocket rocket. And soft Accords for none feloney driving.

This SI is stirring me like Arbarth Fiats of days gone by.
