...the deed has been done, the delivery went off without any hitches whatsoever, and now I've got my new deep green pearl 05 Accord EX-L. Spent most of yesterday getting aquainted with it, playing with everything to see what it all does, loaded it with 6 CD's and played with the sound system, not too shabby...took my daughter and son for a drive, they said it was "alright", what does it take to impress a teenager nowadays?
...anyway, I'll keep you all posted if I come up with anything to report. I did get the spoiler installed before delivery, its the rear lip spoiler, not the wing spoiler. This addition does wonders for the overall appearance of the back end of an 03-05 Accord, I highly recommend it to any who have reservations about the rear styling - I actually like the styling now that I've got one and have had time to study the lines of the car close up and personal, if you take a close look at how all the styling lines flow together it really is quite an artistic design. A lot has been said about LED tail lights, but the way that Honda has done the multi-facetted look with the rear tail lights on this version looks really great IMHO. I'm also very glad I was able to get one in this color, its quite cool how it changes color in varying light conditions, on an overcast day it looks a bit darker than when in full sunlight, the color appearing greener in the sun and taking on a blue tinge when in the shade, I've already had numerous comments on how nice the color looks...several folks have said what a nice car it is - hey!! What gives...isn't this just an ordinary 'ugly' Accord? I guess some people don't mind the way an Accord looks.
...while checking things out in the interior, I did notice a thin strip of foam rubber sticking out from where the glove box lid meets the dash where the lid closes...anyone else ever find this on theirs? I'm sure its an easy fix obviously covered under warranty, other thatn that I haven't found any other visible defects, according to the dealer my car was one of the last 05's to come off the assembly line in the Ohio plant...neat!!

cheers

Congrads on car.
Your are right about the spoiler.
It enhances the rear design. Also
cuts drag a little.
Have Fun!!

One of the last 05's ? Could this mean that the MY06's are about to go into production or already are in production ? I wonder if we'll get an announcement from Honda as early as this week (if they decide to introduce it earlier than normal). Last year, Toyota introduced their Camry MMC the first week of July. It would be cool if Honda also introduced their new Civic at the same time.

...now that my kids have both had a bit more time in the new Accord, they both think its "pretty cool", my daughter specifically, as my son is now driving my Acura 1.6EL and obviously wants to think his car is the ultimate thing...
...the production tag on the door jamb says my car was built in May 05, the last six digits of the VIN on my Accord are the actual sequential production line numbers for Accords built in the Marysville plant for 2005...one of the service guys at my dealer said the number on mine indicates it was definitely among the last of the 05's, he says they usually ramp up production for the next model year during the summer months as it takes a while to get enough 06's into the 'pipeline' to be delivered to all North American dealerships by September...so I figure you can probably make an assumption that 06's are now in the production phase and being 'stockpiled' for a future release date.
...one great thing about the color, deep green pearl, is it is one of those shades that doesn't show every speck of dust on the car, something I couldn't say about the color of my Acura, clover green pearl, which was quite dark and only clean for the first few hours after being washed, love this new color!!
...has anyone else discovered that the windshield visors slide back and forth if you give them a tug? Found this out by accident when I was comparing my 05 with a friends 02, his visors have a plastic extension that serves the purpose of increasing the area of coverage. At first I thought Honda had 'cheaped out' and deleted the feature, only to discover they had actually improved upon the concept...anybody else discover this? There's absolutely no mention of this feature in the owners manual, and when I pointed it out to the guy at the dealership he looked quite surprised and was thankful I'd let him know about this 'hidden' feature...
...great car, enjoying it more and more!!

cheers

Congrats on your new Accord! The feature you mentioned is actually on our '98 Accord V-6. Useful feature....

trainchaser,
Congrats on your new Accord! I'm actually a little surprised they call it pearl, because I think it look more metallic than pearl :dunno: . And welcome dragoncoach! Ahh, another fellow green Accordian  . IIRC Shumax has a green one too.
Edit: PS: Please post some pics!

...the production tag on the door jamb says my car was built in May 05, the last six digits of the VIN on my Accord are XXXXXX, info I have...TC, congrats on the new car, I am still waiting to get mine, hopefully next week.

The reason I am posting is to let you know that posting the las digits of your VIN like that on the web is a bad idea. Bad folks can use the first part of a VIN, put it together with your last numbers, and do some bad stuff, like make false claims, get liens against it, etc. If you can still do it, you might want to edit your post and delete the numbers. I am sure most on here are honest, aboveboard folks, but trolls DO exist....

Cheers!
