Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm Ed, from southern Illinois, and I just bought my first Honda. I traded from a gas guzzling 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP to a 2005 Accord EX-L. I don't regret it for a second. My Grand Prix was killing me with something major going wrong every other month or so, not to mention 20MPG with premium gas. I don't miss the V6--I find the 2.4 in the Accord to be very peppy, and I've been getting great gas mileage with it so far (in the low to mid thirties, depending on where/how I drive).

Had my first oil change last month, and put in Mobil 1 synthetic.

Plenty of pictures of her online: community.webshots.com/user/edwilson13185. Just go there and click on the "Ed's Honda" album.

I'm looking forward to hanging out here--seems like a nice forum.

Congrats! I just picked my 7th Honda (EX V-6 Navi) last weekend. You'll love the Accord. Plus, it won't be in the shop every month when it's a couple of years old. The regular gas and much better gas mileage is also a great plus. These are only some of the reasons this is our 7th Honda. I'm sure you'll find many more.

Congrats on the new Accord!!!!

There good cars. Just shows one how bad the American big three suck! Not one of the big three can build a car in the same class as a Honda.

Will be doing 1st oil change on wifes 05 sedan soon. Moble 1 will be in it

Welcome and enjoy the toy

Cool. I've been doing a lot of reading on synthetic oils, and they seem to really be a lot better for an engine. Plus I'm very much aware of the peak oil theory and the need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, so I'm all for developing and using alternative lubricants. Maybe she'll go 500,000 miles instead of only 300,000 miles on synthetic. :)

I'm expecting mine to go 500K on regular dino oil! If it doesn't I'll be upset :( :lmao:

Wonded what the price difference (per mile, not per quart) will be by then?

...welcome, and congrats on the new ride as well, I also just joined this forum a couple of weeks ago, and took delivery of my new 05 EX-L on June 30th. Great car!! Great little forum, not nearly as negative as the 'big one' with the vtec name...

cheers

I read through that thread--I'm glad I am not the only one impressed by the little things! The little light that shines down on the center console at night is the coolest feature of the whole car. Next to the heated seats, of course. I had no idea how nice heated seats were! My Grand Prix had leather, but no heated seats. These things rock!

Didn't know you could close the sunroof with the key lock, too. I'll have to try that.
