Check out the Japan only Accord Tourer for 2009. Notice the much nicer JDM gearshift console and aluminum pedals they have in Japan for the accords.... life is unfair!!!

I like the shift knob and the e-brake handle. I think the taillights look ugly. It looks like a mommy-mobile from the back. Don't kill the Accord, Japan.

The 5th and 6th generation Accords that we own/have owned have a compartment in that location as well. It comes in handy for change. I agree the 8th generation should have it as well. Also, the european and japanese versions of cars tend to be nicer because cars tend to cost more in those locations.

Yeah but as a Honda, you wouldn't have to buy premium gas. This may be the next family-mobile for me.

Until you would realize how much it would cost.

Kinda what I am thinking. A long with the more expensive components is a more expensive car.

Don't knock the wagon... used to love having a sleeper of a car .. dressed up as a station wagon.

E39 540 iT ... 315 Hp (crank - underrated at 282 from the factory) and 325 ft lbs of Tq... a bit on the heavy side, but went like CRAZY... and handled well to boot.

All the luxury and performace needed...and utility too... Perfect!

Although... I'm not feeling the second pic from Auto week...a little too dodge Magnum ish..

Very true, the wagon can be done right and cant say anything wrong about performance in cars like the one that you stated above.

but MAN do i hate the look of a wagon. it must be because of when i was a kid my Dad had one of these and my brothers always made me sit in the rear looking seat (very uncomfortable) even when there was plenty of room in the car!

anyway, i really am jealous of the interior

I haven't heard if Honda was going to start making them in the US. Unless you're considering importing one.

Many crossover SUVs fit the bill of a "station wagon".

The Japan/Europe Accord Tourer you see there is the equivalent of a TSX (wagon) here. The Accord crossover you see later is what most likely will be sold here as something similar, except that I bet the US Accord wagon version will have a US Accord interior, not the US TSX/Japan Accord/Europe Accord interior you see earlier above.

No way Honda would put their US TSX interior in the US Accord.

I doubt they will release it here in the States. First the industry is suffering. Second, the station wagon models ain't selling at all. Look at the Magnum :thumbsdow

Didn't you hear? Wagons are cool again. My proof?

Exhibit A: The M5 Touring
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c45/seandavid010/Car%20Stuff/bmw_m5_touring_uff_00.jpg

Exhibit B: Mercedes AMG C63 Wagon
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c45/seandavid010/Car%20Stuff/0709_z2008_mercedes_c63_amg_wagonfr.jpg

Exhibit C: Jaguar XF Estate
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c45/seandavid010/Car%20Stuff/jaguarXFestate1.jpg

Exhibit D: Audi RS6 Avant
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c45/seandavid010/Car%20Stuff/audi-rs6-avant-2-big.jpg

...well, to be fair, they're cool in Europe, at least. :D

I mean, does it get any better than an M5 you can haul plywood in? Jaguar is, purportedly, cooking up an XFR Estate (http://jalopnik.com/5170736/jaguar-xf-estate-kitty-wants-a-wagon-for-frankfurt) (with 510 HP), and the guys on Jalopnik were going crazy over it the other day. I'd gladly take a V6 Accord wagon. Add a 6-speed tranny and it'd be one helluva sleeper. Now, if only the American market would get its act together, maybe someday I could actually BUY an M5 wagon... (sigh)

Didn't think the M5 Touring was available State side... only the "saloon".

There were a few who imported the E34 M5 Touring ... a Few Who converted the E39 to a Touring (none were officially built... well maybe one "unoficially" for the head of "M" division) but the E60 (from what I can recollect) was never imprted in to the US.

What a great Grocery getter that would make!

That XF is just a rendering. Rumor has it that it may be unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show, but nothing's been released yet.

As for the crossover that's coming here, remember that those photos show a mule, a prototype built using the bodywork of other vehicles. It will be quite different looking when it actually goes into production.
